    New release Blancpain Bathyscaphe

A new one in titanium, with a new titanium bracelet. Really nice but I prefer the steel bracelet version.

    New one...

    Original

More about the original bracelet. So retro and engineered https://www.ablogtowatch.com/blancpa...ch-hands-on/2/

Just my opinion, but neither of these excite me. The bezel just too thin (for me) and a plain looking watch. I’m sure others disagree.

Not my cup of tea, either.

I like it, but feel it would look better without the date function.

The new size will put me off. Might as well go for the fifty fathom at 43mm imho.

I agree with this and have sympathy with comments about it being plain, but the dial is a chameleon (in a good way), the movement is a peach, it's different and the bracelet on the steel one is the sucker punch for me. It just draws me in as something different and of great quality.

The compromises are the date and lack of fine adjustment on bracelet.

It would be a boring world if we all liked the same things, but I like the thin bezel- one of the reasons the smaller Bathy doesn’t work for me as the bezel is wider in proportion to the case.
It’s a relatively plain dial yes and arguably slighter larger hour markers would have been an improvement, but I’ve always been an admirer of the gorgeous dial and relative lack of text .
I remember the fuss about the additional lines of text applied on the dial of the new Pelagos.
Although I’m a fan of the current bracelet, the new one looks very similar to the X71 fitted to the Fifty Fathoms, so provides another option for prospective buyers.

Not sure why you led with that - as it went without saying, and was already acknowledged?

Everything everyone hates about the Bathyscaphe is what I love.
The dial is far from plain, unless you like gloss black with loads of text.
The new ti one does nothing for me, however.

If I'm going to spend eight and a half grand on a watch, it's got to look like an eight and a half grand watch or more. I find it far too bland. Having handled a Bathyscaphe, that's my opinion on all of the Bathyscaphe models. Give me a No Rad all day long.

Original Sunray dial and bracelet better, scrap the 38mm and 43mm make it 40 or 41mm and get rid of the date at 5.

The brushed dial look great and I'm a big fan of the thin bezel.
Would prefer it with a similar bracelet design to the steel version & bigger indices though.

I find the small markers and slim bezel make the rest of the dial look a bit plate-like. Doesn't work for me im afraid.
