    New Russian on the block

I quite like this. At 38mm it's nice and compact and the usual great value. Just wish it didn't have the date – waste of dial space IMO, and if you've never suffered trying to set the date on a Vostok movement more than two days ahead, bloody annoying.

EDIT: Actually at nearly £300 incl. UK import tax it might not be so great value. I'm still tempted though.

Probably of low quality, that movement with + 1 minute a day acceptable accuracy range certainly looks low quality. And the run time is also poor.

    Average daily rate: -20…+60 sec.

Run-time reserve not less than 31 hrs.

The 2416B is never going to be COSC but it's usually far better than -20/+60. A friend has bought one of these and he seems chuffed to bits with it. It's cheaper at Meranom too (but out of stock right now).

    Here's some of his pics:

Thanks. I have enough experience of the 2416 to know what to expect. It's part of their charm that you either 'get' or you don't.

@Lampoc Those pics have just whetted the appetite. I'm going to take a punt and sign up for an alert with Meranom. Thanks.

To be fair, I suppose I ‘didn’t get’ Moskvitch or Lada either, so it’s probably me.
