I presume you've checked the volume setting on your mobile for that function and turned it up? I'm only asking because I've fallen foul of that before, all be it in a different car.
I have a 2014 Mazda 3 Sport Nav, and have paired my iPhone with the the car’s communication system such that I can make and receive calls and stream music. However, I can't get the phone's Google maps audio to play over the car's speakers for love nor money. (I know I shouldn't need to but the car's own navigation system has some quirks and sometimes I prefer to use Google).
Anyone else had this problem and ascertained how to resolve it?
TIA!

Does your car have Apple Car Play?
If not, I don’t think you will be able to do it. Pre Car Play (and Google Play), music and phone calls was all you could do.
Your car may be a little too early.
Are you sure that it isn't a setting on you phone or app, have you tried it in a different car? mine did the same thing in our van, it was a tick box in Google maps.
Not ideal but is there an AUX input socket? It's what I use on my Mazda 6 for music and maps, with Bluetooth for calls. It is a 2009 model without intergrated sat nav though.
Does the audio from any other nav app work? Apple maps, Waze etc……
I leased a Mazda 3 from 2016-19 and within the last two months of ownership they offered me a discounted software upgrade to support Apple CarPlay so it can be done. The offer was for about £150 if I remember rightly.
Whether the upgrade is worth doing now, at full price, is up to you but it may still be worth contacting your main dealer to see what’s involved.

We had the same issue with my wife’s 2015 Micra. iPhone plugged in via usb, no sound with Apple maps.
Managed to make it work via the audio settings in the Apple maps app by selecting “mycar” in the settings.
Weirdly it now comes up as a phone call on the car stereo display when the sat nav speaks….but more importantly music can be played at the same time with the nav interrupting playback each time.
I hope this helps…..
