There's only one thing worse than a rectangular watch IMHO. That's a rectangular watch with a California dial, and/or a green dial.

Very very nice gents, can’t be many of those two around these days!!
What does the number on the plaque on the edge of the case signify?
Lovely watch...

This is the shape I am angling for.
This along with the Explorer1 and the Freccione would be enough for me.

I think it is just perfect.
An article from Playboy December 1975 has the Marine Chronometer at $1850. The same year retail price for a 5513 Submariner was $355, a 1019 Milgauss was $370 and a 6263 Cosmograph was $500. According to the inflation calculator, $1850 in 1975 would be $9560 today.
Indeed. You could buy 6 Omega Speedmasters for the same price as one OMC. They’re cheaper than a single Speedy now. The danger is if the megaquartz module fails. There’s not many spare ones left & I believe they’re around £1000 for the module. Spare modules are already 45 years old & just as likely to fail the next day as any other. It’s one of my favourite watches & probably attracts more comments than any other in my collection.
P.s. great advert from Playboy, I hadn’t seen that one before.

Ones I owned were bought for restoration and sold, but had some Omega T17's, Longines 9L's and one IWC
Had the pleasure of holding this one in person a number of years ago. No idea on why Lange canceled it

Certina Certiday from 1970.
I've always liked the Eterna 1935 rectangular watches
