Scurfa are really good value and I don’t think you can go wrong if you can get over the hands issue you have. Great quality IMO.
Other than that you could get a cheap scuba dude?
As per the thread title I'm looking for a cheap quartz diver.
I'll only wear it once a week, so not looking to spend more than £200 (ideally much less), can be new or used and must be 40mm Quartz only.
What I've tried or considered so far:
Looked at various Citizen and Seiko models but they're either too big or too expensive. (I'm been checking eBay for the older Ecodrive and Solar models).
Had a Casio Duro, would be perfect if it wasn't 44mm.
I keep looking at Scurfa, but something about the hands puts me off.
Had several of the Divex type watches and they're slightly too budget.
Had a couple of PRS18Q and both had weird timing issues.
Tried to buy a Zeno PRS3Q but I can't find one. I've messaged James.uk, are there any other sources for one?
I can't bring myself to wear an MWC, even the sterile ones.
Is there anything obvious I'm missing, or perhaps some obscure micro brand?
To add, my daily watch is an 80 hour Hamilton Khaki auto, and I have a Timex Ironman for the garden and exercise.

+ 1 for a Scurfa.
I've had one as a daily for about a year - a Diver One with old radium lume. I'm new to the hobby so maybe I'm easily pleased and my opinion/experience is a bit limited. I read about them on other forums which gave good reviews in particular about the construction quality. They are well made and the rubber strap is very comfy as is the bracelet which has a nice dive extension to aid fitting.
I happen to like the hands and I find them very readable with during the day and at night with a lasting lume.
Some people don't like the distortion from the crystal but I think it adds a bit of character! Good back story to the owner as well..........
Good luck with the hunt. For my money the Tag Heuer 2000 ticks your boxes. You'll probably need to bump the budget very slightly but I've had loads (surely every model by now!) and sold them on again for £200-£250.
Have a look at Timex. Some decent quartz divers to be found,
Is a sk007k on the list. Don't go for a J, they are reserved for arseholes.
I’d suggest a Seiko 7548 diver. It’s 42mm but seems to wear a little smaller than the SKX.
Thanks for the responses so far. I think they've confirmed that what I'm looking for doesn't really exist without making compromises.
Keep an eye on Yema. The superman heritage diver quartz is 39mm and if you keep an eye on sales you might get it for something like 250 quid. Might be a good watch to stretch across to ?
Just had a thought, maybe slightly above budget, but Elliot Brown, Traser and Luminox may be worth a look, especially on sale.
Does it have to be 200m?
This is 100m but looks good.
