Not Friday I know but please indulge me.
Wearing a 36mm DateJust tonight. This was my father’s 70th birthday present. He turned 71 today but it’s my wrist it’s on. He’s not here to wear it. He was told at 67 he wasn’t well. At 68 told to put his affairs in order. He wanted to reach three score and ten. He did. He didn’t climb Everest. He did much more than that.
Love you, miss you. Happy birthday Dad x
What a lovely post.
A quality father and a son that I’m sure he was always proud of.
Lovely post Dave, and what a lovely watch to remember your Dad with.
Lost mine 7 years ago but share the same sentiments, they live on in our memories.
A very special watch that will always bring back very special memories. He's there with you, in every thing, every place and every person close to him.

Such a nice post.
A good father son relationship is a great thing if you are lucky enough to have it - I do.
I am very close to my ‘old man’. We are lucky to still have the ‘big b@stard’ in our lives. It will be a big loss when we are finally rid of him… (he is a big softy really)
Bless you and your family Dave and Happy Birthday to your amazing Dad. He shares the same birthday as my lad who turned 8 today :)
Take care mate
Thank you for sharing such a post, Dave.

May your dad’s soul rest in peace ,Dave. Thanks for sharing.
Happy birthday to your lad,Ryan.
Lovely post. My Dad died back in 1988. My Mum gave me his lovely Air-King-Date and it always bring back memories when I wear it from time to time - he went through his own hell and back.
all the best. Dave

Very nicely said in the OP. My Dad would have been 85 today but passed away in 2012. Great that you have such a useable and quality momento to remember your father by. The impact that they have on our lives may diminish with time, so anything that helps with the positive memories is very worthwhile.
Lovely post Dave. Hopeing the watch helps you remember all the good times with your Dad every time you put it on.
Best Regards - Peter
I'd hate to be with you when you're on your own.
Thoughts with you, Dave.

thats a perfect looking 'one watch', prefer that to an explorer. and your dad sounds and looks like a great guy.
That must be your favourite watch Dave. It looks great on you and I am sure your dad is watching on with pride seeing you wear it. Best wishes.
You did your very best for your dad Dave, and for that im sure he was very grateful and proud. Thank you for sharing your story, you are a great man for sure, a great family man and we are all very lucky to know you and have you part of the community.
As said by others, what a great way to remember your Dad.
The fact that you are posting about this shows that he did a great job raising a family.
If only I am remembered like he is after I am gone.
This,to your eyes, will be the most important watch in the world. No wonder why…
