Slime mould?
While walking the dogs over the weekend, I spotted lots of patches of this weird foamy eggs/mould stuff stuck onto tufts of grass in a grazing meadow.
Does anyone have any idea what it might be?
I have had a look on Google, but cant find anything which looks quite the same.
TIA.
Slime mould?
Thank you.
I think that is it.
'Dog Sick Slime Mould'.
Yuk.

I'm quite good with my nature/insects but slime mould is new on me, looks like its a northern thing and probably why I have not seen this before, interesting...
The images I posted above were taken in fields located in Herefordshire, but I have just seen there is an interactive map on the link I posted above which seems to show 'Mucilago crustacea’ is pretty widespread. I personally have never seen it before, despite walking my dogs through fields every day of the year, in various parts of the country.

I’ve got some in my back garden underneath some fruit trees. I assumed it was fruit that had fallen going mouldy.
Loads in Essex. There's even a sign explaining it in one of the parks local to me.
Clever stuff, slime mould!
Are you sure they aren't slow worm eggs?
