    Another stupid U tube video giving poor advice. This technique could sprain a lug on some of the older gold watches. Buy the correct tool and use it carefully.

    There’s a lot of crap watch advice on U tube, some of the bozos posting have no idea what they’re doing and they’re likely to wreck watches.

    If you are going to do that you should do it from the back as the released spring bar can damage the top of the lug. But really you shouldn't do it that way. A very thin knife and applying pressure in the right direction (towards the back) most times will do the job. With expensive watches one should also tape up the lugs for protection.
