Thoughts on a quartz - input appreciated

    Hi all
I don’t have a decent quartz and am looking at a “grab and go” - what do folk suggest

Budget is up to about £400-£500 but I’m much happier at a lower figure

    Like dive style watches

Happy to look at decent homages from Ali Express

Needs to be bigger than 40mm
Main watches at mo are King Seiko etc size

    Any links or pics appreciated

CWC not this particular model but the Mark 1 (new) and SBS (used) are in budget. Lovely case and dial, good build quality and great heritage.

I have a quartz Longines Hydroconquest on bracelet and although it's the 39mm model, it's a great grab and go.I thought the 41mm would be too big for me but it may work for you .I'll see if I can post a picture later.

I've recently bought A Tissot PRX quartz. I know it's not a diver and it's only 40mm, but it does wear larger than that due to the style.
I'm very impressed with it so far and it's well under your budget.
Most of my watches are divers and I'm enjoying something a bit different.

I've had it a few years, and having just had a look I didn't realise they are a bit above your price range unless you can find a discounted one.

Agreed. Look no further. And these come on a bracelet for around 50-80(?) quid more.

Certina DS Action quartz diver. 43mm and available in green, black or a rather nice blue dial. List is £525 but should be easy to get a good discount.

Old 1980`s Seiko diver maybe, once long ago they used to make very high quality quartz movements before they cheaped out to China or whatever happend to them.

I had a 1982 model but forget the model number, it was under 200 and had been restored and serviced actually

Hamilton do some nice field quartz watches.

G-Shock have some full metal squares in your budget.

I like the Citizen eco-drives too.

Pre owned Marinemaster Tuna would be my choice but might be closer to 600.

I was going to suggest a Marathon TSAR or GSAR quartz, which ever one is the right one! The bracelet is super solid, but looking at prices might have to be second hand as they seem to have got up substantially since I bought mine several years ago!

Edit: The GSAR is the 40mm, the JSAR is 46mm, the GSAR is the auto I think…

I’ll support both the 7548 and 300m Tuna suggestions, although the 7548 is half the Tunas price

Probably one of the best quartz watches I've handled at the price point. Good choice.
