Trailer makes it looks like storylines continue from previous Daniel Craig 007 films. Is it worth rewatching the 1st 4 first? Or at least the one with Rami Malik in it?
I used to think that Bond films were best seen at the cinema for the full 'big screen' experience.
Unfortunately my last trip to see Spectre in 2015 was my last cinema experience and I will not be going back to a cinema again as the whole experience was so absolutely awful. I was smashed in the back of the head by some late-arriving woman who obviously needed to carry some form of anvil in her handbag when going to the cinema. No apology, and I was left feeling partially concussed.
After that lovely start, I could barely hear what was going on due to some numpty noisily eating crisps and talking guff for the entire duration of the film. I have no idea how big the bag of crisps must have been to last that long, or why people chose to go to the cinema to have a conversation which would be better carried out across a pub table, but the cinema is an experience I could do without nowadays.
Shame, as I do like a bond film.

I'm a Bond fan. 2021 is the year that I'm re-reading all the novels. I'm up to On Her Majesty's Secret Service. I like Daniel Craig as bond, not my favourite, but pretty good. Believable, good in action scenes, but somewhat po-faced. Casino Royale was a great film, but I found it over long in the cinema. Although the final act made dramatic sense, it made the film drag for me. I preferred it on rewatch at home. QoS I didn't enjoy at the cinema, but I think is actually OK having rewatched. Skyfall was a curate's egg for me. I found the middle act dragged, and while I admire Javier Bardem as an actor, I thought he made a ridiculous Bond villain. Spectre had some great moment, but most of the time it felt inert and the meta-plot seemed very much an after thought.
Given all of the above, I'm probably going to wait for streaming. I would like a trip to the cinemas, but not sure if I can face three hours of what will probably be a very mixed bag.
I'd love to see a reboot of the franchise and loved the idea of a film that cleaves closer to the novel. Tarantino's plan of a black and white Casio Royale set in teh 50's sounded fantastic. Maybe Christopher Nolan will get a chance to make something similar.
Anyway, back on topic.

My eldest son went with his mates to a midnight screening (I was invited but declined - it’s a school day after all!) - he appeared at lunchtime today and I asked what the film was like. He fell sound asleep about half an hour in! - lucky our local flea pit only charges £6 a ticket!
No doubt I’ll see it over the next few days but - much as I like Craig as Bond - I’ve not watched any of his movies more than the once and tbh can’t really remember the last couple apart from the bit in Scotland with the DB5!

TBH, if folks are unable to go to see a film, unplug and take it as entertainment/escape without over analysing the content/plot it's probably not worth going IMO.
Whilst I have cringed at a few films, I rarely take exception.

Think Daniel Craig is an excellent Bond, perhaps the best. I always thought Bond should look like he could kill you with extreme prejudice, and Craig captures that look for me.

Cracking show. Sure, you could carp about every individual aspect - but this is a bond movie we’re talking about, and it’s smashing for what it is.

Disappointing.
Saw it last night for my birthday, it’s long for sure but a great movie.
We're off to see it tonight and I can't wait. I'm a huge fan and despite the 'blond Bond' issue early on I thing Daniel Craig has come the closest to portraying the character of Bond from the books. Other than the early Connery films the rest where just too comedic for me (even if I did enjoy them as a child). It's only the writing in the last couple of films (not Flemming) that has let them down in my view. This is a shame as there is still plenty of great stories which have not had an outing in the film franchise......particularly now that it's more gritty.
I've enjoyed each incarnation of bond for their own idiosyncrasies and quirks, they all brought something unique to the table. I'm in 2 minds as to whether to see this at the flicks. I've not been enthused by the previous Craig outings it's always felt that Casino Royale was mainly done to keep the copyright alive for the film company but was a bigger hit than they expected and so backstory was retconned in to try to make the films tell an overarcing story.
This was only partially successful for me and with Spectre, the film and the organisation along with the Blofeld character all being criminally wasted it's left a bad taste in my mouth.
Personally I'm lately of the opinion that Bond was of it's time and that time was last millennium. In today's world of equality and wokeness classic Bond has a dwindling to non existent place, reinventing Bond is totally necessary but unfortunately, for many, myself included this will destroy what makes/made Bond great if it is to appeal to the modern generation, which it must in order to survive.
I'll probably dip my toe into the water occasionally but I think the days of me champing at the bit to see the latest Bond are over.
I enjoyed it, but more so because it was the first trip to the cinema in a good while. I do wish the Bond script writers would make the villans more compelling and believable! With such real evil in the world as a reference, I'm not sure why this is so difficult.

Really looking forward to it, but also kind of not… with it being Craig’s final Bond movie.
Despite being a Scot, in my personal opinion, Craig has been the best Bond yet. Connery after that.

Well, just back from the cinema. In short, a fitting end to his tenure, although not the best of the Craig bond films (Casino Royale or Skyfall are my 2 personal favourites). Storyline probably a bit weaker than I’d hoped, or maybe it was the length, I dunno… but still entertaining.
Weirdly, it might be a better one to watch on the small screen.

Watched this on Thursday and loved it. Going back tomorrow with mrs Tiny to watch it. I couldn’t tell her anything about the film except to say it was great (without spoiling it).
Did anyone see the after credits bit? I missed it but will watch it this time.
Don’t see how that’s a spoiler to be honest… not said anything about what happens in the movie and I think even people living under a rock know it’s his final film. I even mentioned it in my earlier post before going to see it.

If you like actions movies, you'll like this.
If you like nods to iconic Bond moments you'll like this.
Don't over analyse it, enjoy the ride it's a good film with actual acting in it (for the most part... see don't over analyse)
Loved it from the get go and a nod to OHMSS throughout was a nice touch.
Enjoyable but needs to be trimmed by 20-30 minutes.
Guess time for Michael B. Jordan now.

I’ve not seen it yet, but I think particularly with Bond, the hype carries the film at first and you get overly gushing reviews. I’m in no rush to see it.

Unfortunately all my fears have come true, left the cinema depressed which is completely wrong for a bond film.
It didn't feel like bond it felt like a sad depressing copy.

It didn't feel like bond almost like a sad depressing copy of bond..
