I was considering buying one…. How bad is the battery?
Just received my new Fitbit Charge 5 two days ago - a very nice improvement over my Charge 3. BUT - battery life is dire even with just about everything turned off. At the current drain rate I’d barely get 24 hours - a common problem looking at the Fitbit forum. I spent a frustrating half hour with (a very helpful and polite) Fitbit Support chat last night but no joy. A real pitybecause battery life is a key feature for me.

If battery is the priority consider Garmin.
I’ve just got one - only had it a day so can’t say about battery - but it’s still at 82% with always on OLED display. No complaints. Big improvement over Charge 3.
couldn’t read the charge 3 in sunlight - this OLED display is so much better.

Gave up with Fitbit after many years of being an early adopter. Always felt I was part of their dev team after the Alta, so many issues & lack of development
Mine just arrived - the supposed 10 day battery life was a big draw so I hope not!
Just to update: a further reset has done the trick! Dropped only 11% in 24 hours (I have just about everything turned off because I’m never far from my phone).

Slightly off topic and I have mentioned this before, but download the Stridekick app. It’s free and you can sync it with Fitbit, Garmin or apple I think. You can do challenges for up to 30 days instead of the maximum 5 day ones on Fitbit. I’m on there as Stephen17. Add me and I’ll enter you into challenges.
