    Chopard Alpine Eagle High Frequency

I've always admired the Chopard Alpine Eagle, but never had a chance to see one in real life. I own a Time Traveller One that I really like and I'm quite a fan of Chopard as a brand.

This variant of the Alpine Eagle has really caught my eye - it uses an 8Hz movement and apparently has a super smooth second hand. I have no idea if this gives the same mesmerising effect as a Seiko Spring Drive, the optimist in me hopes it does.

    (taken from https://www.ablogtowatch.com/chopard...h-in-titanium/)

Not cheap, and no micro-adjustment on the bracelet (I'd hope it includes 0.5 or 1.5 links though).

I would be concerned about the high frequency of the balance and long term reliability - its going twice as fast as most modern movements. The fact that most manufacturers stick to 4hz means its a sweet spot for timing and longevity.Chopard uses silicon components and no lubricants to achieve the 8hz.

Very very nice, but I think I’d stick with the SS model.

8Hz has its own beauty but it is not as smooth as the spring drive glide. You can actually see the ticking. Have a look at some Zenith El Primero on utube.

I thought the el primers was 36k vph whereas this is 57.6 so should be waaaay smoother

The Precisionist beats at 8Hz (16 beats per second) and you can still see the beats.

Very nice - Shame it's another LE but understandable if they struggle to mass produce the movement.
I prefer the updated dial on this - just having the 12 in roman numerals and the rest straight indices works better than the 3, 6, 9 & 12 in numerals of the other one.
