G - Shock ‘Smart’ watch hybrid

Bought a GBX-100 for my recent holiday. Loved the tide graph as all the kids want to do is play on the beach. Really happy with the watch in general but the stainless steel bezel was just a little bit too big. Not the worst thing in the world but a gripe none the less.

When I got back, I ordered a GBD-200. Much more traditional case with a resin bezel. But no tide graph. I could have just used the pair of them but instead did this:

Now I’ve got a watch I’ll never wear and one I definitely will!

Not sure how to deal with the glass - the printing is now inaccurate but I’ll probably leave well alone.
Not exactly open heart surgery but it gave me something to do on a Sunday afternoon.

Nice Dave. Is this going to be the new work watch too?

    Nope. Holiday watch basically.

No grease and no idea why I took this but it looks like there’s a metal splinter stuck in the bracelet?

I’ll delete all these kind of photos when I list it for sale as NOS 😂

Last bit of mucking about today.
Always fancied a Dial Artist Casio. But am trying to live to my mantra ‘A few nice things’ so don’t want five G-Shocks when one will do. So had a bash myself and must say, I’m rather pleased with the results.

I used Posca pens (paint pens basically).
Left to dry for 5 minutes then wiped the flat surface to remove the excess with a polishing cloth and nail polish remover.

    That's excellent!

Very tempted to have a go myself.
