Brum parking for the Utilita Arena - local knowledge please

I'm off to see Genesis in Brum next week. I'll be driving back South afterwards so don't really want to join the bunfight leaving the arena car parks. My plan is to park at Q Park Mailbox and walk probably along the canal. It will be good to stretch my legs and get some fresh air before three hours in the car.

• Will it be safe to walk back along the canal and side streets at about 11pm
• Can anyone suggest a better plan / parking location?

Should be safe with a bit of common sense, and if lots of people are leaving the arena at the same time I’m sure a decent number will be walking the same routes as you. Parking in the Mailbox is probably the best bet, but the “cage” town hall car park should also be fine if the Mailbox one is full. I’d walk the entire way back down the canal then through the mailbox building.
