Can I ask why people call these the Newman. The Paul Newman Daytona has the little hammers on the sub dial, this one doesn’t. Just curious, unless every watch Paul Newman was ever pictured wearing is now referred to as a Newman. Also the batons wouldn’t have been shaped like the modern watches 50 years ago.

    Marketing?

I agree, lovely watch, but bad marketing. It’s like that Explorer II that people call the Steve McQueen when no one has ever found a picture of him wearing it.

My boss just picked that up this week too.

Surprisingly understated for a solid gold rolex. The oysterflex is super comfortable

Stunning!! It's amazing how the black rubber turns it into an every day wearer both in terms of looks and weight.

Very nice. The Oysterflex does look good with the end links.

of all the ways in which I could think to describe this watch, an every day wearer isn't one of them. It's a watch that shouts at you rather than subtly goes unnoticed, about as everyday a watch as a Lamborghini is an everyday car.

Newman used used due to the reverse panda layout. It’s a bit of a lazy term to distinguish this model and nothing more

Beautiful! Congratulations on such a lovely thing.

The List may, one day, deliver similar to me. Maybe. If I’m very, very lucky.

I must say a solid gold and Oysterflex are a great combo. Love my YM40 RG for the same reason.

Do you mean the vintage or modern version?
If you mean the modern version shown here, you need to get out more.
