    Tour of Britain

The final stage started in my town this morning.
It's amazing how easy these guys make some of the hills look.

Looks like the final sprint along Aberdeen beach will be a cracker...

    Cheers,

    Adam.

I’ve been following this on TV this week. It’s been a good race.

I watched it go up the steep (20%) section of the GT Orme in Llandudno on Wed. The road was such the riders had strung out and were understandably going slow. Saw literally 1 m away Cavendish , Wout Van Aert, Andrei Greipel , Richie Porte and off course world champion Julian Allaphilipe.

The funniest site was a lad in a green jersey who wheeled the entire climb , dont know how far he kept it up , but the final climb was 1.9 Km

Ps you could tell when Cav was coming through due to the roar from the spectators!

I regret not watching them on the Orme climb because it was a great opportunity to see the riders up close, as you describe. I saw them come through Conwy but it's all over in seconds!

Mondie I went over to Belgium to watch the LBL years ago, all the spectator spots were high speed eg , here they come, 10 secs of mechanical sounds and race kits, then gone!

So now I agonise on where to visit. There was a double / triple benefit of the Orme as they cam back down the hill, so we saw them again. Then lastly we parked on the West ( quiet side) in the council car park. All the team buses were parked up about 150 yards away. So we saw many of the riders again.

The funniest thing was the difference between the Jumbo Visma Ineos Movistar “ super buses” and the smaller teams “ rented” motor homes, with all the riders sat on camping chairs drinking Calipo’s ……quality.
