    Pepsi alternative

Wondering what people recommend as an "affordable" (i.e. sub-£1k) alternative to a Pepsi GMT. I can only think of a Steinhart, but wondering if there are other micro-brands I might not have heard or forgotten about.

    Thanks

The Lorier Hyperion is pretty nice, here’s a pic of my old one.

Check out the Baltic Aquascaphe GMT too.

    Pepsi alternative

    Two spring to mind

    Yema superman GMT
Baltic aquascaphe GMT (more orangina than Pepsi)

I’m sure there are lots of others

    EDIT: late on the Baltic

Got to be Steinhart in there too. They have a huge selection as well (Pepsi, coke, root beer, 1655, 39mm, 42mm).
All for well under a grand and with Swiss movements.
I should add that I have never owned one, but frequently tempted.

    This is one alternative:

    DAVOSA GMT REVIEW

Actually I got contacted by people at Davosa because of that review. They thought it was a bit harsh.

But hey, that watch has some issues and I honestly documented them. The "GMT" movement in that makes zero sense to me but visually it's pretty good looking watch which resembles a lot of Rolex 1675.

It is not available in Pepsi colours, but the Mido Ocean Star GMT gives you Rolex-like Traveller GMT functionality for comfortably under a grand.

I've owned a few microbrands, but few came close to Steinhart. I'd definitely recommend it!

I`m a big fan of Steinhart, not the type of watch I like to wear but having worked on a few I'm impressed with the quality of the cases and bracelets, they really highlight how grossly overpriced the Rolex stuff is! Last one I handled had a very unusual movement fault ( hairspring not secured tightly into the stud) but I can`t blame Steinhart for that.

My only complaint is the fact that they refused to supply me with a glass gasket that had cracked due to materials failure, I ended up using a generic that had to be trimmed to fit.....not ideal.

Bamford watches do a pepsi GMT for £1,250

    https://bamfordlondon.com/collection...s/gmt-heritage

It's above your budget but Goldsmiths do them and discount codes are available...

I genuinely thought that movement was going to be taken up by more swatch brands.

Also, I can’t believe that mido still don’t have a UK presence.

I made a comment on one of Mido's instagram posts about lack of UK dealers, and they replied that I could expect changes to that quite soon, so maybe they will.....

If you can put up with quartz accuracy then the BFK Pepsi is worth looking at.

Although not a Pepsi but a Coke, this Certina is a genuine GMT for under a grand. Only real drawback might be it's size but otherwise, great value and with it's own identity:

This would get my vote any day of the week over all alternatives mentioned.

I think it is San Martin without the logo. Bought it from WR watches. Ofcourse the strap is something I put on.
