PSA - Seiko Prospex LX @ 50% Off

Thought some of the Seiko fans might like to know that DC Leake has 3 of the Spring Drive LX's (there was 4!) at 50% off. IMO thats some serious watches for this sort of money.

    Can be found here -

The SNR031 is a bloody good buy!

Yikes, all three of those are bargains. I've got the third, the 027, coming in my shipping from Qatar, and I was hoping to sell it for more than that!

Proper watches, and a very cheap way into the Spring Drive world!

Edit, whoops, I've got a 35 coming, not the 27!

I've just spent the last 4 hours going back and forth on the 27 & 35. The 35 won!

This is part of the description. New & Pristine Condition. Ex-Display.
So I guess they've been shop display models with stickers removed probably.

    Still a bargain tho.

That's a great PSA by the OP. Too big for me but a bargain for someone after the Landmaster style.

Have spoken to the store, and have been assured the one I ordered has been checked over and is mint. Am picking it up from store today, so will be able to check myself. I spoke to D Leakes himself, sounds like a nice guy.

Fabulous choice, a great watch and a great price.

Nigel is a really nice fella and from my experience if he says the watch is mint it will be.

  12. #12
I have no doubt it will be mint. As it probably only sat in a window but it's always best to check.

Either way even if it had a few faint marks you're getting it at half price with full warranty. It wouldn't worry me tbh.

Funny what can happen in 24 hours! I certainly wasn't expecting this at 4pm yesterday, but some deals are to hard to pass up. After a slow drive up the M5, had a pleasant chat with store owner, and am now the proud owner of my second spring drive. Perfect size (for me) and being titanium light weight to boot. Quick and dirty pic below (by the way, Leakes had a cracking Prospex display, well worth a look)

Looks great. Is it an Office or Travellers GMT complication?

James Porter has this one: https://www.james-porter.co.uk/seiko...1-5501158.html

And it’ll be perfect, because I just bought the SNR025 (bracelet, yellow hand, no black coating) from them it just arrived and it is brilliant.

PSA Part 2: I know where you can get a new https://www.seikoboutique.co.uk/product/prospex-lx-6/ (the Landmaster) with bracelet sized once, but new with full UK warranty for £2150. PM me and I’ll let you have the details.

Did anyone manage to get an SNR031 here in any of the sales? Can't seem to find any posts.

I'm looking at one online for £2.6k second hand from a dealer but if they were £2.7k brand new that's not an ideal price.

I'm pretty sure they were over £5k new. £2.6k dealer sounds right and £2.2k private.

£5.4k is retail and it's still available for that but I've seen it (sold out) for £2.7k at about 6 different ADs including Jura/Sellors and Francis & Gaye

Don't want to think I'm relatively insulated at £2.6k and end up bumping it on SC for £1.9k by Easter.

£2.2k-£2.6k private sale is about right I think. The dlc lx watches seem to drop more then the raw metal. I picked up a 035 recently on SC for £2.1k. the dlc does mark btw.

Think I paid 2.4k for a SnR029 privately a few months ago, it was one of the 2.7k Gaye's ADs sales about a year ago

The DLC'd ones deffo run a bit lighter second hand

Cheers guys, will give it a miss. Subdial have it for £2.6k and the SBGX343 for £1,835 and both were really tempting.

Always the way when you're selling a watch that something you've never really looked at suddenly jumps out at you.

If that's a real price at sub dial then it's a bargain. IMO these are not £5k watches but they are good value at they price, a really really good buy.

Ahhhh, that's a pre owned watch, ok, it's a good, fair price then

  32. #32
Splendid watches but the cases are massive. This and their near GS prices have eroded their market appeal.

But I have to say I prefer the dials and hands on these vs their Spring Drive GS counterparts.

Caved in and sent Subdial an offer for £2.3k a few days ago which I thought they'd reject but they've accepted so I should have one on the 3rd or the 4th

I've an snr025 which is a little big for me, although it doesn't wear large, but for c50% RRP they're really excellent value in terms of finish and the spring drive movement, beyond anything else I've had for the money.
