Nice collection, although I'm not a fan of TT ..
Hi folks,
Been a bit quiet recently but now I`m back, having just learned the art of picture posting ( I think).
Don`t see many 2-colour gold/steel watches on here so I thought I`d redress the balance. My collection of Omegas & Rolexes contains several. I think they look superb and they are generally much rarer than steel, particularly in the UK.
Here's one for starters which came from Japan via the USA
followed by a rare Seamaster Professional, also from the States
Followed by the best 16013 Datejust on the Planet. Bought this 1986 example from the original owner who claimed to have worn it less than 10 times. I believe him because it's absolutely mint, even under a magnifier.
All comments re 2-tone watches welcome, whether for or against.
Nice collection, although I'm not a fan of TT ..

Not a great lover of TT but the speedmaster looks pretty nice there.......very Daytone'ish :)

Not normally a fan, but I am very fond of my Santos.
TT does not do it for me - had a couple of goes over the years but no success (yet).
When you look long into an abyss, the abyss looks long into you.........
Nope, not now, not ever.
But as long as you enjoy them it's allright :)
Cheers,
Daddel.
Got a new watch, divers watch it is, had to drown the bastard to get it!
Each to his own. I dislike two tone watches much as some WIS dislike the lumpy bracelet! 8)

Saw a Speedmaster with a rose gold bezel at Harrods last week, looked absolutely stunning!
Not normally a big fan of bi metal, but when it works, it really works. 8)

Actually the only TT watch I've seen/handled that I liked was a Daytona (and I'm not a fan of those either). It had a grey dial which matched the steel perfectly ..
Which belonged to Fredrik (Swe) .. his pic too!

I am the fortunate owner of one of these - for me one of the most beautiful two tone pieces ever
And here I was about to post a picture of that very watch
Ryan, best to credit photos when using another person's pics, TIA :evil3:
So sorry - just did a Google images search because I was too lazy to take a photo of my ownOriginally Posted by Nalu

I'm a 'sometimes' TT fan; it doesn't always work for me - but here's one of mine that it does:

PS The bezel gunge is salt - it goes diving.

I quite like TT watches. This one caught my eye recently:

I have a 2-tone GMT Master on Jubilee but one of the nicest 2-tones I've ever had was the Dunhill with El Primero movement. Forgive the quality of the image, it's from 2000 when I was still using a scanner.

Whole chunks of my life come under the heading "it seemed like a good idea at the time".
When TT's are done right they really do look good.
Caught mine, too!Originally Posted by pinkwindmill

I had this, a new model Turnograph (why did I sell it? Hpoe your bro still enjoys it Alan?). Anyway, I prefer the rose gold two tones over the yellow.
cheers

I bought this one in a moment of weakness... sales y'know
Easily the shiniest watch I own.
All crap
THIS is the most beautiful TT watch on the planet:
I'm not as think as you drunk I am.
Don't know why, but two tone is one of the few things in a watch (ignoring just utter monstrosities) that I instinctively don't like and don't get on with. I'm sure part of it is the fact that I don't wear gold, but I'd wear a gold watch way before I'd wear a two tone. This is despite the fact that one of my last pre-WIS watches was a titanium solar Pulsar with gold coloured accents on the bezel. Odd.

Actually, Mike, your Datejust could pass as 2-tone and that's a beauty. 8)Originally Posted by ralphy

Indeed Guy. Btw, brought it to a watchmaker... it was just a minor problem, paid about 40 Euros and it runs like a champ now ;-)
I even got another vintage DJ incoming now :-)

Certain models I really like. My favourite was the Omega 2296.80 Seamaster Chronograph which had a unique combination of Titanium, Tantalum and Red Gold. If I find another in the right condition and for the right money then I would be delighted.
This is the most resent two - tone watch I had which I sold recently.

Not a big fan of TT myself but there have been some nice ones posted!
Here's my white and Yellow gold two tone watch:-
I really like two tone watches, but not from after about 1940!
Also, just bought this ladies watch of fleaBay, still waiting for it to come from the states, but the pics look nice
Hello,
If TT is done well, it can look good. The problem is that there is usually highly polished Gold or Platinum used as the extra metal which both vastly increases the price of the watch and makes it look varying degrees of blingy; from subtle to outright tacky. For this reason, the average WIS will tend to avoid them. I always associate TT watches with the 80's and find many watches with this decoration very dated looking. But that is my problem!
Almost forgot, I have this at the back of the watch drawer: a Poljot alarm watch that I bought off a stall in front of Moscow University in 1993. It is marked in commemoration of the 125th anniversary of the birth of Tsar Nicolas II.
2 tone has to be subtle (ish)...
Cheers,
Thanks to all who replied and posted pictures... nice to see that 2-tone is still alive & kicking. When I get time I`ll post some more.
Watched a re-run of American Psycho the other night. Patrick Bateman, the lead character, wears a two-tone Datejust and makes a big deal of his ownership, and not letting victims touch it. I hope you TT freaks don't harbour the odd psycho in your ranks!
PS. The film doesn't even scratch the surface of the book, but I suppose how could it?
