    Rolex Hand Grenade

I have some Andrew Martin items in my house but not sure I fully understand this, some of you more Art literate types may though.

    Made of plexi?
A nice chunk of machined metal would've been a thing to behold.

Edit: I've just seen the dimensions. They're absolutely enormous! The smallest model is 0.8x1.2 METRES!

Edit again: but only 3cm thick. Oh, I thought this was a sculpture, not just paint on plexiglass. Fo shame.

If I'm spending 3k on something with Rolex written on it, it better tell me the time!

Obviously he knows the grey market is about to be ‘blown up’ as Rolex are about to food the market with supply.

It's a sly comment on flipping.

Most who get a steel Daytona at RRP typically move it on as if there were a 3 second fuse.

    I really like that.
My wallet really likes that MrsV would probably leave me if I installed it in the living room. :D

I'm not sure where I'd put it in the house either but it would look great in the garden if it's weather proof.

Might drop them an email later and ask how many scatter cushions I'd need to purchase before being considered for the hand grenade

Seems a touch derivative of Magnus Gjoen

    lol

'At 180 a cushion, I may as well go for a few chairs at 230'.

That's not how it works, Sir....

I literally typed that same comment, but then browsing more pieces on their site spotted the liberal use of Hermes, LV, etc, too.

I know you see unauthorised use of “intellectual property” on eBay and Gumtree but not generally on high end retailer websites.

I just struggle to see what would be in it for Rolex.

I opened this thread expecting it to be some seismic/shocking news from/about Rolex. I didn't expect it to actually be a Rolex hand grenade.
    Quite pleased it was!

Is it made from 904L steel? does it have a ceramic pin? I hope it’s not automatic….

(Dad) jokes aside - I kinda like it.

I like the concept but might wait until Eddie releases his Smiths branded Mills bomb.

I might to have to pull the trigger on that, or is it now - pull the pin!

That would be something to put on the mantelpiece as a conversation starter.

Maybe a range of branded artillery shells too.

That could also go in the "INCOMING" thread.

I remember once, when settling up at the end of some hot paddle action, the lady in the auctioneer’s office asking whether I had a significant other. That was when the belated alarm bells began to sound about the 8’x4’ subject of the day’s proceedings…
