    Oooooo
Now the non LE is something I might be persuaded to buy!

  5. #5
$895 for the non LE looks a very good price.

    Cheers, Shaun

Looks good, price isn’t bad either. However, I wish they had gone a little easier on the vintage lume colour. I look forward to seeing some real world pictures

Looks nice and the price seems keen. Is it just me though that's thinking it's a bit...bulova fifty fathoms?

    Lovely.

The main issue for me is price. It is far too much for a watch with a Swiss movement or Miyota.

    Very nice

I think it looks great for the most part and while I am not against faux patina lume, they have made it too yellow.

A 16mm (I think) strap on a 41mm watch would kill it for me

I just came here to say just that but you have already said it. Yes, 16mm lugs for a 41mm case. Ouch!

From the article: “The watch also features a push-lock rotating bezel that only rotates when pressed down.”

That is interesting. Are there other watches with this type of bezel mechanism?

A feature of the original Fifty Fathoms, I believe.

Too much design appropriation from the FF, for me.

I didn't like the FF Barrakuda aged lume at first, but love it now.

The back story is interesting and explains why it looks like a FF, it’s the mil spec requirement. The first thing for me was, oh, another FF homage, everyone and their dog does one, and as much as I like the design I’m put off by the fact there are so many out there at a much lower price point.
16mm lug width is a huge killer for me, that’s going to look odd on the wrist with a 41mm case. Not for me.

It’s a good looker, but $895 for a Miyota 82XX seems a bit strong. I thought the Devil Diver was pushing the value proposition, but this takes it to the extreme.

Very similar to an FF, I like it though.

I believe the most handsome dive watch ever - the IWC Aquatimer 3536 - used the same system.

Also 15-20 years old - but undeniably a fine looking watch.

Thanks everyone for the replies about the spring-loaded bezel. I had missed hearing about that somehow.

I'm a big fan of vintage reissue divers, but more often than not there's a proportion issue for me in most designs. Usually it is the manufacturer messing with the original dimensions and ending up with a clown sized version (like the massively long lugs on the Longines Skin diver or the monster size of the Certina reissues). In this case, it seems the original design was odd - 16mm lugs on a 42mm watch just looks out of proportion - the thin strap would quickly irritate me against a large, thick watch.

One of the LE versions in the window at Crouch's in St Davids, Cardiff today. Tried it on, and it would be on my wrist now if it wasn't for the 16mm strap. I know that its faithful to the original, but just looks so out of place given todays tastes. so disappointed, as this would have satisfied my long held desires for a FF Mil Spec!!

Just been over on MWR and these do not have a lumed bezel apparently. That is a killer for me.
That’s key to the essence of the watch.
    Such a shame

That video style is trying so hard to emulate Talking Hands from Watchfinder the pre owned watch specialist
