    RIP SEAN LOCK

Cancer at 58, shocking. For me he was one of the best of modern comedians. Also he managed to walk the line of being extremely funny, clever, and quick, whilst being neither offensive nor "woke", as good comedy should be.
Some great one liners too, such as "sharks can only hurt you when you are wet".

He was responsible for some fantastic one-liners. That is sad news.

I was watching him on YouTube yesterday on 8 out of 10 Cats does Countdown. He was very very funny, even when was not saying anything. So much talent. Thank you for the laughs.

Such a shame to see him go. He was clearly not well on 8/10 cats for some time.
If you've never seen it, his 15 Stories High is brilliant.

Terrible news, I met him briefly a few years ago in the green room back stage after an 8 out of 10 Cats recording, he was a lovely Man and a very original Comedian

    RIP Sean

Gutted. 58 is no age at all and what a funny man. I had no idea he was poorly. RIP

Such a shame. Seen him live a couple of times. If you ever get a chance, you must watch his piece on celebrities, particularly Madonna, it was hysterical and one of the funniest sets I’ve ever seen.

  12. #12
I only knew him from 8OO10CDC, loved his humour. RIP.

    Thumbs up

Very sad.. a genuinely extremely funny guy. I used to love it when he’d rip the mickey out of Jon Richardson.

Me too, for some reason the Channel 4 produced highlight videos started appearing on my YouTube feed at the weekend and I chose to rewatch them…he was even entertaining just laughing at other peoples jokes.

    ‘That’s a challenging w*nk’ 😂

Gutted. 58 is far to young. Loved his comedic style. RIP.

^That was hilarious and completely unexpected. Rachel bent backwards laughing and Jimmy is covering his face laughing. Sean went a bit red and raised his hands.

    Extremely talented, a sad loss.

I loved carrot in a box when I first saw it & still laugh at it.

Not seen the Viking helmet comment before, but amazing that he just comes out with it.

Such sad news, he was a very funny man, one of the best.

Loved him whenever he was bouncing off Vic Reeves.

Terrible news, such a funny funny man. Some of the stuff he did on 8 out of 10 was just superb.

  29. #29
I just want to point out I quoted a one liner before I spotted someone had already posted a link to the segment, it was simply the first funny moment I thought of.

I shall continue to rewatch his moments tonight after work, I remember carrot in a box from when it was first shown but can’t remember why it came about but I see Jon Richardson mentions it in his tribute. I shall rewatch ‘rectum of the year’, his picture books, and after I’ve stopped eating my dinner, his eating whelks.

And even funnier when he blurted out something inappropriate (even if it were true) ....

Very funny man, and will be missed, loved his stand up.

  38. #38
Really sad and gutted to hear this today. He was a genius of a comedian and the clear star of 8 out 10 Cats does Countdown. I watch clips of his often on Facebook / YouTube and still find them funny after many watches.

The Tiger who Went for a Pint, Cyril the Screw, Gritty Adult Colouring Books and the Madonna stand up sketch are personal highlights for me. Absolutely hilarious.

So sad, such a funny guy. I was crying at his Seal clubbing sketch and rectum of the year. A comedy genius. RIP.

    Very sad.

I remember seeing him on his last series of 9 out of 10 Cats and thinking he didn't look well but couldn't find any news.

He had me in stitches with his world-weary, deadpan delivery and cynicism.

I loved his riff about shopping in Aldi and Lidl being like being on holiday, with all the weird jars of stuff like puffin hearts.

He was a very funny chap.
He managed to be modern and current without resorting to swearing or profanity.
Definitely one of the better modern comedians IMO.

Very sad hearing this; his dry, sarcastic humour was right up my street.

Saw him live around 2012, utterly brilliant. Best line was the Chinese president worrying about his slowing economy, solved by lifting his phone and shouting MAKE MORE SH*T!

    RIP.

I started following 8oo10cdCD on YouTube, he always came across as improvising his lines and genuinely enjoying himself, certainly more entertaining than the tired old tat that Carr is given to read aloud.
