Personally I think that Grand Seiko make the best watches under £5000 that you can buy. Nomos and Tudor would be second and third place choices for me.

Would add a Tudor as mentioned and the speedy.

But it would be boring if we all thought the same.
They should have titled it good watches under £5k rather than best.

That is a terrible list and reads like an advertorial. The list below isn't very original or interesting but they would all be picked before the ones in that list for me.
Rolex: OP41 (£4,700), new Explorer (£5,150), DJ36 on oyster, domed bezel (£5,650 - not massively above).
Tudor: BB Chrono (£3,900), Pelagos (£3,440) or any BB/BB58.
Omega: Seamaster 300 (£4,450), any Speedy Inc MKII (even if the 2021 is £5,370 on bracelet).
If I was spending up to £5,000 on a new watch I wouldn’t buy any of those watches.
I would likely pick Grand Seiko or Tudor, albeit that the list of Tudors would be shorter than for GS.

We're all different which is a good thing, for me, best bang for your buck right now, is Tudor I'd say.
2021 Rolex Oyster perpetual 36 or 41mm depending on your wrist size, even if you cant get one.

IWC would've been my choice but a pilot watch with almost invisible seconds hand?
For me, the Chopard is the most handsome, the IWC is worthy whilst majority are fashion brands with limited horological value.
What about a Dornbluth, for £5k you can choose form a range of complications, and customise it to make it truly unique.
that’s not a great collection of (best) watches under £5k. it’s clickbait as mentioned. i think there would be a couple of omegas in there as well as a couple of tudors, grand seiko is also a good shout within that price range
They don’t sell Tudor, Omega, or Grand Seiko though.
No point trying to push stuff they can’t flog to you.
Surely the best watch under £5000 is the one that you want, not the one that someone else tells you that you should have?
None of those are bad watches, it's just a shame 5k doesn't get you something a little more special these days.
A Radiomir Black Seal would be a nice addition to that list I reckon.
A better Mont Blanc would be the geosphere.
A moonwatch or an aquaterra might be a good shout.
I'd probably prefer a Monaco than the Carrera.
But each to there own. I think that list would be good if it was a lot bigger and not just a list of watches from Goldsmiths.

I love the Breitling - so much so it was indeed my first 'expensive' watch. I still have it and it'll never leave my collection.
I'd also have to agree with their reasons, it's not derivative of anything and looks great in all situations. It has to be on the mesh bracelet though.
The Seamaster is a credible alternative but I loathe their bracelets - far to fussy on a tool watch, the carbuncle at 10 is an eyesore and the wavy dial just doesn't do it for me (prefer the subtle sunburst of the Breitling).
That said if we all liked the same thing it'd be boring.

The OP didn't ask a question, simply offered an opinion, as did I.
I didn't suggest for a moment that we shouldn't discuss watches, although "like minded" is as subjective as the "best watch under £5000"
there's no such thing as the best watch under £5000 for everyone. There's no criteria and personal opinions are subjective.
so the question should be, if you had £5k to spend which watch would you buy and not which watch under £5k is the best. The link was simply clickbait.
in summary, this is a forum where opinions are offered. I've offered mine and others have offered theirs. Feel free to leave the forum any time you wish.
You know how these things work. They ask who wants to pay for an advert/editorial. whoever pays gets in. I wouldn't look at it any other way
