The Great White debate - A summers dial?

    Chaps,

Renoir said once that nothing was so difficult, and at the same time so exciting, to paint, as white on white, but which is your favorite white dialed watch and why?

I'm going to offer up the recently released and divine ceramic white dialed Omega PO 600. I Think this is a great summer dial and arguably the best looking Planet Ocean.

    Thoughts?

This one. But unfortunately the market dictates these are a £25k plus watch these days

I have two on my fantasy Christmas list.

First, the De Bethune Kind of Two:

    (taken from https://monochrome-watches.com/de-be...ands-on-price/)

Second, the F. Berthoud Chronometre FB2RE.

    (taken from https://deployant.com/f-berthoud-chr...nds-on-review/)

Neither of which I'm every likely to come close to affording!

I have a few white dialled watches. I wear them whatever the season. My current favourite is my Seamaster but a close second is this tasty Seiko slice of the 1970s.

Got to be the original for me. Supremely clear to read, sword hands and a lovely wave dial. Also has a nice COCS movement and a "traveller" GMT

It's my "go to" holiday watch, and maybe my over all favourite watch.

I have the white dialed Tudor Grantour - which is pretty versatile once the bracelet is removed...

I’m quite pleased with the carbon fibre effect Isofrane style rubber, but I bought a couple of other options for the summer too...

I have to admit, I’m pretty happy with this one. Not only is it at least as pretty as the Daytona, but it houses a very innovative movement indeed.

“Borrowed” image but I bought one of these last year and love it. 34mm maybe too small for some but fits me fine.

I really love this dial. It looks like it's ceramic or enamel, when the light catches it.

I only own one white dialed watch, a tiny Sekonda that, years before I became really interested in watches, I mentioned I liked the look of to my wife at the airport!

She must have bought it there or later, as I received it as a Christmas present that year.

I guess I must have liked it at the time, but, generally, I don't find much appeal in white dials.

I do have a white-dialed watch on the way (a kickstarter project with a full lumed dial, I've never tried one before), so it'll be interesting to see if I wear it much.

Does cream count? This is the second Newmark 52 I bought having sold the first - something I love about the heat blued hands against the light dial - I think it reminds me of the Timex I got for my 5th birthday!

White does make a nice change, although a lot of my vintage stuff has white dials.

My DA37 on some nicely faded canvas is my "summery feel" watch . . .

However my Archimede is my Sunday pub watch if I turn out . . .

Some gorgeous pieces on here. I’m quite partial to a white dial and some of the Panerais have got me thinking.

I have the same watch. It wears really nicely and is not immediately recognised as a Rolex because of the white dial, lack of cyclops or bezel. It’s my explorer.

But this 36mm Aqua Terra is probably my favourite, if Mother of Pearl counts as white??

The GO is more silver / champagne than white I guess- and not sure if panda qualifies either now that I think about it

Cant beat a white dial. My late mother bought me a White dial rotary before she passed and although I rarely wear it now it was a watch I have got more compliments on than any of my more expensive watches.
