    Amen to that...

Even as a City fan I fully expected the penalty to be given. Baffling decision, you could even see some of the City players reaction…. they thought penalty was going to be given.
As for the tribal loons on here, we’ve had loads of clear penalty calls go against us so wind the necks in.

EDIT: saw it again tonight and definitely bicep. Pen all day.

The pen shout looked like shoulder to me.

Good summary. We had to suffer a handball like that going into the net in a CL quarter final.

Nice to see MOTD supporting those who need to wind their necks in.

Clear penalty, shit decision, lucky City again.

I’m an Everton supporter, but I hope Liverpool win the PL.

I can take comfort that you won’t win the CL. Currently City have won it as many times as Tranmere Rovers

I’m in agreement it should have been a penalty but to say lucky City where penalties are concerned is ludicrous.

Bielsa has left Leeds according to Talksport. Not seeing anything on BBC though

So on 23 April when Everton play Liverpool you hope your own team will lose. Perhaps threatening their PL status. Super fan. Maybe you'll be happy when they are playing Tranmere Rovers. 😁

At a salary of £8,000,000 a year with a one year contract extension signed last August, I am sure Bielsa will cope ok.

Apart from this one , maybe ?
FWIW, I think it was a penalty but for anyone to say we get the majority of contentious decisions is ludicrous.
We are still not at it , I think there’s a nervous few weeks ahead .

Arsenal supporter here but hope Man City win the PL. I've not forgiven the brushing over of the fact that Man City's team wasn't far-off being murdered by Liverpool fans prior to the 1st leg of their CL tie, that would have clearly unsettled the City players and that impacted the result. The tie should have been awarded to Man City IMHO

Well murder is a strong word but you'll recall when the City coach was attacked by Livwrpool fans with bricks and bottles. That could easily have killed someone

Really good final time watch both teams going at it full tilt, and for once a ref who’s letting the game get a bit physical makes it so much better to watch.

The handbags were amusing, epically the youngster who came steaming in then realised rudiger was twice the size and not messing about.

I’ve seen the replays still not sure lukaku was offside as well

    Oh yes.
I’m looking forward to Ivan telling us that Lukakus offside was the most blatant offside in the history of football and that Keitas studs were lucky to survive that assault by the Chelsea players cojones 😂

Think this from the BBC sums it up

“It's impossible to imagine a goalkeeper sub for penalties going worse.

Kepa conceded all 11 and then missed the crucial kick himself.”

Hilarious - maybe he’ll rethink all the gamesmanship nonsense in future.

I’m no Chelsea fan, so the most complementary thing I can say about Rudiger is I can’t stand him - what a player

As a scouser who has lived around SW London for 30 years, my main aim in life was not to allow my kids to become Chelsea fans. Them was the rules.

More difficult than you think when they grew up in the area, the only club shop was Chelsea’s, all their mates where Chelsea fans, and Chelsea where dominant in the noughties.

Proud to say they are good and massive Liverpool fans, and very happy.

Karma right there for his refusal to come off in a reverse situation 3 years ago. Mendy took the decision with real class, especially given he looked totally invincible on the day and hard to image a Liverpool player feeling more intimidated by Keppa.

Did you see the Antiques Road Show last night. A guy was the grandson of one of the Newcastle players from the 50s. Cup final shirt, 3 x Cup winners medals etc plus other stuff - very impressive. Check it out if you haven’t seen it.

Bielsa's contact includes his entire staff as he pays them. That said it's still a huge chunk of cash but he's been worth it in terms of how he's improved some of the players and if you know anything about Bielsa you know he's not motivated by cash (and gives it away quite regularly). Total legend, he shows how a coach can improve players and was exemplary in the way he conducted himself. I understand why a change was deemed necessary as he's been very stubborn but it's hard to imagine anyone else getting more out of a largely Championship quality squad (prior to his arrival) and having the worst injury record in the PL.

Bizarre! There are obvious refereeing errors every single week. If they apologise for one, then they should apologise for all!

Everton receive apology over Man City handball

But no-one apologies for this which I just saw on Twitter. That’s got to hurt!

The only thing he should apologise for is the shocking application of VAR by the PGMOL week in, week out.
I’m sure every club has cause for complaint about VAR decisions so why he should apologise to Everton is beyond me.

Not Premier League but must congratulate Boro on a fantastic performance to beat Spurs tonight. They were very good against Man Utd in the last round but were even better tonight. What the hell is going on at Spurs though? That’s three top coaches that can’t get a tune out of this lot.

The problem is that "the tune" under Conte isn't consistent yet. When we get it right we get it very right, though.

We're very light in central midfield' and with what will be our nailed on pairing - Bentancur and Skipp - both sidelined through injury it's showing at the moment. We'll get there, I'm sure, as long as Conte doesn't up sticks.

So the Trust have put it up for sale? Will the sale include paying the former owner the £1.5bn loan back?

I was at the Leeds game and we were great, although Leeds were woeful. Was at the Burnley game and we were poor. Didn’t get there last night (mercifully) but we were poor again. The reason for the inconsistency is because we play only one way, and that way is only effective against certain types of opponents. Teams that leave space in behind for Kane to exploit and players like Son, Lucas, Kulu, Bergwijn or the wing backs to run into and we’re good. Teams that sit with a low block and leave no space and our lack of creativity is exposed, hence we look good against Leicester, Man City and Leeds, but like a pub team against Wolves, Burnley and Boro.

Harry Winks is a Championship player, he is awful - I’ve never seen seen a central MF as bad on the ball, get dispossessed or just give the ball away as much as him. Hoijberg is also terrible in possession. The other big culprits for giving the ball away are Sanchez (thankfully dropped) and Emerson (dreadful signing). Davies is also a Championship level player. Son has decent numbers since Conte arrived but his game has been poor. Take Kane out of this team and it’s a 12th-15th place team, he is the only thing that elevates us to top half of the table.

ENIC absolutely have to go in my opinion, they have no interest in building THFC into a trophy challenging club, we are merely a column on a spreadsheet to them. And as for Conte, he is currently underperforming using the same 343 tactics every game that are seeing our weakest links (central mid) woefully outnumbered and exposed. We have no control over the midfield in any game, he has to put an extra body in there or the same things will keep happening, but he is too stubborn.

    Rant over!
