    3-2 to Burnley

    I suppose that’s justice.

    We are truly Donald Ducked.

What a joke Romelu Lukaku is. Clearly I've ensured he scores a hattrick against Arsenal but really he is awful.

I've had a look at Everton's fixture list. Ouch.

Three successive managers haven't wanted him around the first team and now he can't get a game at Everton. I think it's clear he just doesn't want to be a footballer. He wants the money and the lifestyle but doesn't want to put any effort it. He's stealing a living for sure.

I agree, wonder what the issue is with Van Der Beak too?

He’s got an injury at the moment. They both played when we beat them 3-1 a few weeks ago and were total passengers.

    There's no other answer.

He was fantastic player - England regular, then he got a funny haircut and seemed to give up trying. A real waste.

We had similar with Ravel Morrison, a supremely talented player.
    Cheers,
    Neil.

It was the same with a few players that looked great a few years back, got big into social media and creating their own clothing brands or other distractions and put football on the back burner.

    Morrison, Lingard, Ali, etc

Well our next game is against Man Utd who always seem to beat us regardless of what kind of state they are in. The Mersey derby isn’t too far away and that could be a complete massacre. Burnley are playing Norwich and I think they will beat them plunging us in the bottom three with little chance of getting out.

It is looking grim for us this season.

Honestly Ken I think you’ll survive on the basis that the bottom three will be, and have been, worse.

This issue will be next season though. Stick with Lampard? He was the wrong choice IMO. No money to spend.

Considering what he’s had to deal with at Derby, I think Wayne Rooney has done his best. Maybe one for the future at Everton, but it would look like he’s following Lampard around. Not a great omen.

Don’t count Leeds out yet; of their seven remaining games, three are Arsenal, City and Chelsea.

I think Watford and Norwich are gone, but Burnley seem to have an easier run in than us and seem to have more balls going after the win. We got two goals last night from two very dubious pens and still conceded three. We went three games without a single shot on goal. I think once Burnley have matters in their own hands, possibly after this weekend I think that will give them the drive to push on.

Can we keep blaming the managers. Funny how our previous managers have gone to manage Real Madrid, Barcelona and the World Number One ranked country, but up on Merseyside all were deemed failures and sacked.

I agree Ken. The problem is the owner, sporting director and board. Together they've wasted £500m on bang-average players and gone through several decent managers and this is the outcome. Rafa certainly wasn't the problem. He was lumbered with the collective recruitment errors of five different managers. I speak from experience, bitter experience, when I say it's those who run the club that need to go. If they don't you'll continue in this spiral. You'll have the best stadium in the Championship.

Sounds like my club, we’ve spent £1b on bang average players

Everton will convincingly beat United, Liverpool, Chelsea and Arsenal .
Lampard will be knighted for services to football .

Yes, Everton fans have blamed the managers and now have pretty much got what they deserved but lets face it, since Lampard arrived the club have been in free fall. I cringe whenever he speaks to the press its like he cant help himself but have a sly dig at the players. How exactly does he expect them to play for him when all he ever says is "I am fantastic, its the players who are the problem" Everyone is having a go at the players and in some cases rightly so but pre Lampard some of them were getting talked up to play for their national teams so maybe the problem is not just with them. Maybe if he had a bit of we are all in this together/united front it may get a better response from the players.

Everton are in a mess of their own making and even surviving this season its hard to see any real turnaround. The big fear is if they do go down I dont see them coming back up for a while.
I’m not happy with Lampard, but sacking him now is not the answer with 9 games or so left and who would we get in to replace him. Certainly a decision needs to be made in the summer.

I agree that we would not be a yo-yo team and could end up like Stoke, Forrest or Leeds (as was) and be stuck in the Championship for years.

The squad needs a clearout whichever division we are in next season, there is too much dead wood in our squad.

From October 1st Everton have been the worse performing team in Europes five top divisions with 12 points.
I think their injury list is the worst in the premier league.
Leeds are second and that takes some beating.
I actually thought Everton would win last night but when you look at their line up and how they struggled after the equaliser I think they are in real trouble.

I really can’t see where Everton are going to pick up points these days. I’m a red but would like them to stay up.

    David Bentley, anyone?

Yes, such a shame about Dele - you have to assume he's just not a trainer, because he certainly has the talent.

I think Leeds are clear and heading to safety. 6 points above the drop zone is massive with games running out.

Thanks, but I don’t see it to be honest. Also depends which United turn up, knowing our look it will be the one that suddenly thinks CL footy is achievable, although that ship has sailed. I think Arsenal or Spurs will take that.

Congrats to Newcastle. I think this season 34 points would probably be enough, but one more win would guarantee safety this year. I don’t think you need 40. Be nice to be safe before you head into those horrible games at the end of the season. Imagine playing Liverpool and City and needing 6 points to stay up!!!

I’m not so sure Ken, both Burnley and Everton have two games in hand which could take them both above Leeds so dropping them into the relegation zone.

A win against Watford today will help but we’ve still got City, Arsenal and Chelsea to play.

Over the years, you always feel as though United are going to steal a goal at the end. The last 30 mins was a long time.

    Watching Watford v Leeds now.

Great result Everton always nice to see the Mancs lose, Brighton hopefully you will get a result and hopefully my team CFC will hang on at St Mary’s after a lousy week.
Will be watching the Spurs later with the missus ( a Spud) so have to keep the mouth shut.
