Thread: Premier League 2021-22

I see Javier Tebas is throwing his rattle out of the pram again, threatening to report PSG to UEFA over the Mbappe deal. Thank goodness Real Madrid and Barcelona have shown the rest of football how to budget. Although, in fairness you do have to wonder how earth this is within FFP. Perhaps PSG will have to do a Barcelona and ask Messi to play for free 

Reports are Mbappe will have a say in hiring of coaching staff and players on top of the crazy money they are throwing at him. It’s a recipe for disaster giving one player so much control and influence.

I think Salah will stay at Liverpool personally.

I think the Salah situation will only truly unravel once there is genuine interest in the player from elsewhere. I think the club may feel a big money offer received would be their easiest get out from a very difficult situation.

Not sure what the issue is, but if its purely financial then I do agree with the clubs position of being conscious of not upsetting their dressing room and wage structure, even if it means having to let one of their biggest stars go to pastures new.

Well done to KDB for winning player of the season, maybe the snub will make Salah feel he needs to be at a Real Madrid profile of club to win such accolades, he is clearly overlooked in the English Premier League.

For the record, I am not taking anything away from KDB and do accept this is a very polarising discussion.

Mane would be a better fit for Madrid .
Loved Tebas’ meltdown too about Mbappe .

He won it for 2017/18. No idea how the PL award is judged.

Could go either way, Liverpool still have to win and I still fancy City to win despite being down, so long as nerves don't get the better of them.

Since I've been a Man City fan that's the best comeback I've witnessed.

    Oh, Ryan...

(I did tell you that the best policy with a tight run-in is to say as little as possible )

COYS!!! Superb job from Conte, and I don't see him or any of our big players going anywhere now (and that includes Harry)!

You’ve been one of the fairer Liverpool supporters in this thread so, when your own fans assault a City bus, please keep the comments just to football.

What a season, what a final day. Really thought we were dead and buried. I always felt Liverpool were going to win. What an incredible season all round and just glad to put these stupid Gerrard comments from the media to bed.

Well done to Leeds for staying up and congrats to Spurs. Big test now for Levy whether he’ll back Conté and give him the players he needs to push on.

That too is equally classless. One doesn’t make the other any better.

I agree incredible season, I never thought Liverpool had a chance until Villa went two up and credit to Pep for his substitution and Ilker for completely turning the game on its head.

Liverpool never expected they would get as close as they did and that will mean they’re a lot more down than they would have been, had it not have gone the way it did today.

Job now is for them to pick themselves up and win next Saturday.

City are without doubt worthy champions.

No guesswork involved when it’s being broadcast for millions to see on live television.

However don’t want to spoil your day of celebration, enjoy.

Only one team in Manchester at the mo and it isn’t mine!

What a wreck, in the last weeks 4 against City, Liverpool, Brighton, 3 Arsenal, punch-ups during training. Poor bloke having to pick through the debris.

Congrats to City, Liverpool, Spurs and Leeds. Didn’t want Leeds to go down.

Thanks to Brighton today for keeping United out of the European third division next season.

To be fair goat it’s the council that gives the date for the parade not the club.

The club have stressed that’s the heysel anniversary date but the council have insisted that is the only date.

Liverpool ( the club ) are doing a remembrance service in the morning of the 29th.

On a side note, thought it was on for Liverpool there but credit to city the best team comes out on top at the end of the season.

You must be a bit of a troubled fella, as nothing, and I mean nothing would have upset my euphoria if it went the other way.

Phew. Leeds have become specialists at late injury time goals when results are needed. Norwich, Wolves,Brighton and Brentford! To be honest it could have been different today if Brentford hadn’t had a rush of blood to the head and ended up with 9 men but I’ll take it.

I see Vila’s keeper was assaulted in the celebrations post match. These pitch invasions need to be stamped out next season.

    Absolutely

I have to say as a neutral the way the last day played out was pure drama Liverpools hopes being built up only to be cut down in the space of fifteen minutes made it all the more dramatic

Yes I saw the video and it’s absolutely disgraceful, something really needs to be done about this, it’s unacceptable that professionals plying their trade are exposed to the dangers of a few idiots in a crowd who have most probably had too much to drink and feel it’s perfectly fine to assault players of visiting teams.

Should be fairly simple to deal with - Any pitch invasion results in three matches without home fans. Any more after that and it’s three points deduction each time or expulsion from any play off or cup comp.

Leeds fan here. Phew is all I have to say! Hope we find some stability next season. I have to say I'm not overly convinced that Jesse Marsch is the man for us, but time will tell.

Happy that Man City won the league. What a team.

    Premier League 2021-22

Congrats to city, they are an amazing team.

As a red I am proud of my team keeping it going to the last day again, thought we were going to do it at one point. But it’s the hope that kills you and the drama is why we all love the game.

Big match next week to look forward too now.

As for the parade, would rather it was on a different day, but that the idiots running Liverpool council for you.

  50. #2100
City and Liverpool both and fantastic PL seasons, with Haaland next season and a few other signings I think City will created a bigger gap next season. Impressive for Liverpool to even keep up with City, credit to Klop for that.
