I guess we'll have to see.

It's not all Bruce's fault, however much you want him to be culpable. There's no doubt that Mike Ashley should have canned Bruce earlier, IMO. NUFC has lost at least another week by not having a replacement manager ready to parachute in. That delays your improvements in 'organisation, tactics & confidence' & will likely cost the club points going forward.

I think January is likely to see a couple of marquee signings and maybe a few cheaper and loan signings. The only objective the club has right now is to stay in the EPL.
LTF sums it up perfectly. Our first aim is to get up the table asap and survive, next target has to be mixing with teams like West Ham and Leicester. Once we are there can move to next stage, and think about trying to attract some of the genuine big names.

No player that Man City/Chelsea are interested in signing would even consider us regardless of the £££s involved. And they probably still wouldn’t until we can offer champions league, so still long, long way off

Wasn’t that long ago that Newcastle jettisoned Ivan Toney and Alan Armstrong. Toney in particular could have been a standout in the current team. The starting point is to recognise the talent you may already have amidst all the horse trading that will start in January.

Not sure why we let Toney go but Armstrong is trouble. He's a pisshead and all-round PITA which is why every club lets him go.

I agree he's a busted flush now. I doubt he'll work in the EPL again. We've had enough toxicity in our club without adding Jose to the mix.

Apologies for the DM link but Martin Samuel nails the hypocrisy of the PL here.

Jose is a tactical genius. He engineered that result so he can get a multimillion pound pay-off, join Newcastle for six months and win another multi-million pound pay-off. The bloke has earned £93.5m in sacking fees since 2007, he's laughing at salary boys like Klopp and Pep whist going from club-to-club emptying bank accounts. Smartest man in football is Jose.

Jose is not daft, always thinking ahead. Even made sure he dropped in the old ‘’special connection with Newcastle because of sir Bobby’’, when asked about it last week.
AKA just keep me in mind for when it all goes to sh*t in Roma (purely cos of the players/owners/failed project. obviously)…

If the new owners of Newcastle want to see how not to spend money, take a look at Everton. The owner came in promising the world yet having spent circa £500m (let that sink in, half a billion), they fielded that team today and got the result they deserved.

    So take heed PIF.

In fairness the injuries they've had are pretty severe. DCL, Richarlison, Delph, Mina, Andre Gomes and lately Doucouré are all probably in the first XI in a fully fit squad. Take 6 players out of most PL teams and they would struggle.

That said, I tend to agree that the general quality of their signings hasn't exactly been stellar! But goes to show how difficult it is now to compete. If you want proven PL quality, it's very difficult to buy. The alternative is smart scouting à la Leicester - but that also has it's challenges and limitations, primarily time and competition. If Rafa is given the time he will undoubtedly improve the squad and make them more competitive.

'You'll never walk alone'. Unless you are a Liverpool forward in which case you will have no Man Utd defender anywhere near you

I predicted it first. Ronaldo to watch Salah score a hat-trick. Do I win anything? Or is that just Liverpool who win easilyyyyyy.

ps. Compare Ronaldo and Cavani. Ronaldo standing still hands on hips. Cavani, one second he's defending in United's penalty area, the next he's up the other end of the field trying to rescue some pride.

It could be more than the 7-0 that Chelsea dished out yesterday, especially with Utd down to 10 men

Disgusted by that Pogba tackle. Hope Keita doesn’t have a serious injury but it doesn’t look good.
