Maybe Mick P has a point after all
Have recent had the urge to get a nice genuine 1680.
I sold one in 2013 on here, as you can see from the FS link below.
What a mistake, I could cry into my Bacardi & Coke!!!

What now would be a reasonable price to buy one in todays market?
On checking Chrono24 the prices cover quite a large range.
Maybe Mick P has a point after all
There are a few on here who wish they'd had a crystal ball as far as Rolex sales are concerned.
That was a bloody lovely example as well. Is it still on the forum?
I think your looking at 10k + for nice examples
Was looking at this one myself this week

Don’t look back, don’t ever look back........big mistake to try and recapture what you’ve let go especially at eye- watering prices. You sold it for a good reason.
£10k from a dealer.
No affiliation with the dealer but a couple of examples below.

Completely depends on the watch, condition, history, seller, set etc.
How long is a piece of string
Yip
Nice untouched one can go for twice what a decent one goes for.
Buy the best example you can or you will always be looking wistfully at better examples.
Cracking wearable watches though wouldn’t trust in water at their age.
Others would
I’d estimate about 12K for decent example but not been looking at stuff in a while so maybe off

Me included I believe that it was sold to another member, but to be honest, I can't remember. And I agree it was a beautiful watch.
I was thinking the same, nice piece. But then Jacek does tend to find them.
On this occasion, the link wasn't to look back, but as we all know, threads without photos can be a bit boring :-)
Thank you.
Very true
I think that you are about right with the pricing, and sound advice
Red or white?
Fair to you or fair to the seller?
UK sale or abroad sale?
Pointless question without specifics.
A) Happy with either.
Would love it to be a RED, but most likely waaaay outside of my budget. And a lovely white has just as much character.
B) Fair to us both
C) Most likely a UK sale as I can than view the watch, unless from an impeccable source overseas.
D) Good points :-)
Only just spotted this thread.
I was the the lucky buyer. It is indeed still on the forum.
Cherished every day I've owned it, and regularly worn.
Still has the original plexi and the single lock crown that it left the factory with.
One of the better investments I've made, but most important of all I've loved owning it.
Both Tonys, what an example. Beautiful watch .
I've been looking at the same ref recently. There is an immaculate full set with Sweeping Hand but I think it's £16.5k.
Too rich for me but still go and look at the pictures again every few days.
