    CWC Falklands era strap

Has anyone tried one? Haveston don't have the strap I want with PVD so I'm looking at other options.

    It's this one:

I've got no idea how they work but I know I've never seen one on a watch so maybe they're terrible?

    I have one
It’s not the best strap to be honest (it was a strap to hold beds and other kit together originally - not watches)
I find it comes lose during the day as my wrist flexes. It’s poorly stitched (it was a utility strap after all) so looks a bit cr@p
It’s sat in my strap box for yonks. It stank of surplus when it arrived so needed a good wash.
Glad I bought one of the first for less than a tenner, they are a lot more now.

    Thanks for that.

They do look rough but that wasn't a problem, but if it's going to keep coming loose and be uncomfortable, for £29 I'll steer clear.

Happy to send it to you to try if you wish?

I’ve tried mine on lots of straps and always return to the grey CWC with black hardware. It’s quite a tight fit between the lugs - like it’s 21mm or something - and just long enough for my 8 3/4 inch wrists but I like the look

Very good of you but I don't think it's going to work. You put me off

I'm currently alternating between the WO premium NATO (which is too short for you) in grey and a ZD NATO in khaki, but I do like those Haveston canvas.

I'm never satisfied, as my wife keeps telling me

I did try the CWC stretch nato too which is quite nice especially against my ‘vintage lume’version

I had one of those Falkland straps, couldn’t work out how to use it. I was glad to let it go when I sold the watch it came with.

Mine lives on a Phoenix NATO. It’s become suitably worn in to match the watch.

In the spirit of alternative offerings, I just got this grey ribbed nato from CNS. It’s a bit stiff but has potential

All strap and no watch. It's far to over bearing.

As a young Rifleman I was issued a pair of them for wrapping up sleeping bags etc, they were called "straps, utility". Because they were too short to strap up anything they were universally referred to as "straps, futility".

I've a Falklands strap which I use on my PRS5 Broadarrow. Contrary to some of the comments, I find it very comfortable and easy to put on and adjust (once you've the hang of it).The green is a good colour too.

Those are great, have the same one.

I tried one of the Falklands straps ages ago, wasn't keen myself and couldn't find a way for the clasp part to sit comfortably. Might not have been fitting it right but I moved it on.
