    My Glory Hole

As every schoolboy knows, "Slava" (cyrillic: Слава) is the Russian word for "Glory" - a brand of Russian watches from the Second Moscow Watch Factory.

And here's the hole where I keep them:

They were easily the funkiest of the Soviet era watch brands with some of the most innovative and accurate movements to come out of the USSR but sadly they also had a reputation for unreliability. That being the case, finding excellent condition working examples can be a challenge! Here's some I've collected over the years.

    My box of Slavas:

A Slava "TV". There's also a reissue of this one which I really "need" but it's £500. I'll end up buying it soon...

    Green, weird and absolutely mint!

    A bit of Soviet asymmetry:

The Slava Amphibia is one of the rarest Slavas out there. So I have 2. Apologies for the crap photo:

    Another NOS Slava:

And to finsh, a kid's chicken alarm clock - because why not?

Hope you all enjoyed something a bit different. If you have an old, mint Slava hidden away let me know - I'll probably buy it from you!

I don't think I've seen anything better on this, or any, forum than that chicken clock.

The Amphibia are great looking watches.
    I would not mind either.

I was a bit hesitant but couldn't resist having a look

A nicely focussed and interesting collection - are the cases all stainless steel or chromed brass?

The 2 Amphibias are stainless steel, the rest are chrome plated brass like most Soviet watches of that era.

This might run it a close second.

https://videos.files.wordpress.com/p...g_2935_dvd.mp4 (Couldn't work out to link video properly).

Also available on Youtube. Pecking chicken, accompanied by heavy breathing, starts around 30 seconds in).
