    LEMANIA S3 Non-lume Project

A Royal Navy non-luminous Lemania chronograph is one of the most desirable British military watches. Designed exclusively for use on nuclear submarines that required a watch that would not set-off sensitive radioactive monitoring systems, the non-lume Lemania was a simple and relatively cheap solution to the problem. The MoD took the proven Lemania chronograph in service with Fleet Air Arm and Royal Air Force aircrew and converted a number of them to non-luminous watches by replacing the radium or tritium luminous dial and hands with a black printed dial and black metal hands. The non-lume chronographs were modified by the MoD and were identical to their luminous counterparts with the exception of the dial and hands. To differentiate between the variants, NATO stock number 0552/924-3312 was assigned to non-lume watches.

Hi Terry, nice to see you posting here every now and again, I hope all is well with you?
It’s good to see one put back together, and it’s a great result. It can’t have been easy to acquire all the parts.
