I like this - probably my favourite recreation from Longines with an interesting movement too. The new blue Ti also looks pretty good. Must get around to trying it!
I've quite drawn to the Longines Big Eye and wondered if there were owners who can comment on it – good or bad?
Obviously it's a matter of taste, but it looks like a solid package to me with a bit of discount. It probably wears big at 41mm and no bezel, but maybe not?
Are there any alternatives in that £2000ish price range? I've looked at Guinard pilot chronos, and am familiar with the Sinn range.
There's something about the Longines though …

Owned one and flipped it for no reason than being a massive flipper!
Really nice...I'd recommend it.
Fraser Hart currently have them at 22% off. I've seen it cheaper, I think I had mine around £1450 from EJ a couple of years ago.

They're super watches, they really are - one of the best Longines reissues. There are some photos here, from when I sold mine -

Mmmm, it looks nice, and a lot nicer at £1400.
It was the Fraser Hart ad which got me thinking about it more seriously.
As soon as I pull the trigger, one’ll come up for sale here at £1200.
Thanks fellas.
But you need to ask yourself, what price am I happy to pay. It doesn’t matter then. Happy with 1400? Grab one!

I would also look at Siduna, and Hanhart, both of which I own and can recommend.
I know I have harped on about it before, but the Longines suffers from looking really capable and then having a miserable WR (30m, pathetic), one that Longines themselves suggest you need to remove the watch to do almost anything.
The new Spirit chronos are their first heritage issues to be given a proper WR, so they seem to be learning.

These are almost unbelievably good for the money by the way;

I'm interested in the blue titanium version of this watch but it's a bit pricy compared to the steel version. Apologies for hijacking but has anyone got any experience of this Big Eye version?

I've ordered it and I'll update the thread with thoughts in a few days.
I forgot about the massive Longines box so let's hope it works and I don't have to send it back
I really liked the Siduna but the sub dials look just a fraction too small, leaving space in the middle. It was a tiny thing, but there's no doubt the watch represents stunning value for the spec.
That's annoying:
Not even a personalised email. And how can a website randomly place items that are out of stock?
Please accept our apologies. We have had to issue you a full refund as we no longer have this watch in stock. Unfortunately our new website has been randomly placing items that are out of stock on the available list.
We apologise for the inconvenience

I love Longines. I’m not sure why I flipped it. Maybe 30m WR made me feel uneasy washing dishes?
Great movement and really solid pushers. The winding action and operating the Chrono was a pleasure. Also mine was accurate to around +1spd.
Enjoy it, it’s a great piece.

I tried one on at an airport a couple of years ago and was soooo close to buying it. Stunning watch and sits really nicely on the wrist, doesn't wear too large at all.
This thread has made me wish I hadn’t sold mine! Looking at a picture of me wearing it a couple of years ago. It is such a nice watch!
Came here cos I’ve always had a soft spot for the big eye, but that Siduna is lovely. the thickness would probably make it a door knob magnet for me, but it looks a cracker for the price
Great watches these and we’ll priced if found under 1500.
The Sinn 358 to me m, is it’s closest rival but I’d pick the big eye
I had a look at the Longines in the flesh a couple of weeks ago and it blew me away. However, that Siduna range is a bit special too!
I can highly recommend the Avigation, or “Dead reckoning”. Excellent build quality - seems far better than my Speedmaster by comparison. It is beautifully made and very underrated.

Jon.
I bought mine from a forum member a few years ago. A great watch, has a very solid feel to it, especially the chrono pushers.
Brilliant Watch.
I am actually looking for one.
Where do they trade on the secondary market?
