Record player and speakers - advice sought please

I’m looking to buy a record player and speakers, new or used - something that can sit free standing without taking up too much space. If it makes any difference, it will be largely used for jazz music. Budget is sub £500. I have little to no experience of audio equipment so all help gratefully received. Thanks in advance.

No it doesn't! My mistake, although you can get an external one for around £70. Puts you over budget but if you ask a single retailer for a bundle price it will be close.

I went through a similar process recently and bought a few cheap Pre amp boxes to hook up with a new amp that didn’t have one but they were all lacking in power, I picked up a early 90s Technics amp off FB marketplace for £40 with a phono stage and it’s amazing for volume now. ( coupled with a SL 1210 deck )
