I had a burst next to Tom O’Conner in the public toilets of St John’s shopping centre in Liverpool back in the mid 80s.

Me and a mate were there for Pebble Mill auditions for new music and Tom was presenting.

We were a psych-folk duo ahead/behind our time and didn’t get through but Tom seemed a decent bloke and even washed his hands afterwards.

    RIP

My Nan loved him, she said he always looked "clean". Not sure what she meant, but a good egg for sure. RIP.

Really sad to hear. He appeared to be a very nice and decent person. I used to watch crosswits regularly. And some family friends met him and even got signed photos with him and they said that he was very kind and charming.

    RIP Tom.

    Tom O'Connor

I had the pleasure of running the sound for him at a black tie charity fund raising event, many years ago at Epping Forest Country club.
He was an absolute delight and gentleman to work with, extremely funny, cheeky but genuine. My condolences.

I thought he came across as a lovely and genuine chap with a captivating smile. Interesting that he was a teacher originally and it was in the classroom that his comedy career started.

RIP Sir Tom, and my condolences to his family.

Blimey, there’s a venue from the past! Wonder if it’s still there...

Funny guy who gave me many childhood memories watching The Comedians and name that tune. Seems everyone's experience of him was v positive.
