    New Panerai White Submersible

I'm a massive fan of Panerai's 42mm Submersible line. The 42mm case is a perfect fit for my scrawny wrist and I love the 1950 case design. I've been hunting for as sporty white faced watch for a while, and this looks likes it fits the bill...

There are also some nice images on IG: https://www.instagram.com/explore/tags/pam1223/

Funnily enough, I predicted this back in 2019: https://forum.tz-uk.com/showthread.p...=1#post5241491 - I think mine is nicer with a black ceramic bezel.

I think this is an absolute beauty and i really hope they do a 47mm version. If / when they do I'll be all over it like a cheap suit.

Agree with Nev about the size, 47mm would be perfect, possibly even 44mm ok. Fx that Panerai listen.

    Love it (when it’s 44mm).

The larger size would be perfect.

There was a trend on here for a while to pour scorn on all white dialled Panerais which I never understood to be honest. I think that one looks great (although I agree that it would be better in 44mm ).

I'm waiting on a blue faced Submersible PAM 1068, deposit down. I'm new to the brand and I really like these 42mm editions.

44mm or 47mm in titanium and I’m interested. I really fancy adding a white face to the collection.

With 44mm and 45mm in the collection all ready I think 42mm will be to small.

I prefer the black one. It looks good on the product photo, but this is just bad taste.

That looks like a different watch to the one in the original post. Just a case of bad lighting?

That picture makes me think that a ceramic bezel - either black or white - might have been a better choice.

I have a deposit down, so I’ll hopefully see one in person in August.

The product photo has a much heavier brushed effect which looks miles better. I still like it though....

The first pic got me thinking wow now this is a Panerai I really like! (not generally a fan for some reason) The real life pic though is a bit disappointing in comparison. Will be interesting to see more pics.

Very nice, Simon - crisp, clean and different. FWIW, I think I prefer it on the black rubber, gives it more contrast - the all white looks a little bit too washed out (like something East 17 would have worn in Stay Another Day). But, a very nice pick-up, enjoy!

My fondness of double-white has been questioned in the past 🙂, see: https://forum.tz-uk.com/showthread.p...3-Double-White

Luckily, it's suppled with a black strap (I bought this white rubber a few years ago from the boutique). So it may return to its "official" strap when I decide to move away from the 90s boy-band aesthetic!

    Cheers,

    simon

So, you have form indeed - I missed that one! Do you still have the 655, or would two white PAMs in the collection be overkill? I prefer your new polar Pam over the old - I think a combo of no patina, the rubber (over leather), the bezel (including being brushed), and the white just looks fresher. Yeah, definitely a good look!

The 655 has gone, sadly. Actually, the 655 is one of my favorite Panerai models: interesting micro-rotor movement and no bloomin' date! If one came up for sale, I could be tempted, but you're probably right - two white Panerai pieces is probably enough.

    It's P.900 (see: https://www.panerai.com/gb/en/collec...le---42mm.html). I'm not sure that's Panerai's most respected movement 🙂

As I said before would love this in a 44mm. Not sure about the white rubber with the white dial, but I was very drawn to the white rubber on the 614 that is pictured on the panerai website. Might go bold for next summer.

Hmm a polarising watch, I confess I'm in the "undecided" group, though I think it would look stunning on the wrist of a leggy tanned lady, perhaps SimonK could help in the Chronoporn thread?

Nice watch that, I’m warming to the new white dial chrono they released this year, so bored of black and blue now

Love the watch, my first ever PAM had a white dial, but I'm sure about the white rubber.
I did see white rubber on the Panerai website on a black dial sub and thought that looked boss.

I've just realized that my short length black rubber strap (that I had years ago on my 682) is missing its keeper and the regular length strap (as supplied with the watch) keepers are too wide. So, it will have to wait for a bit before going onto a black rubber.

The watch comes with a funky Velcro diving strap - but that's also too but for my scrawny hamster wrists.

Any chance of a wrist shot? I’m curious to know how this would look on the more streamlined wrist. Did you ever compare with the white Seamaster?

I suspect both would be too big on me but I haven’t seen them in the flesh.

    Hi,

I haven’t tried a Seamaster, but I’ve had several iterations of the 42mm Panerai Submersible and it’s one of my favourite watch cases ever. My wrist is hovering around 16.5 cm in circumference and there’s some perspective exaggeration from the close up, but I hope this helps.

I’d recommend trying one on - they’re great watches!

Nice one Simon. Looks great... and keep it on the white strap. Despite my Panerai obsession I did pick this up earlier in the year, which I have found an amazing summer watch - the white on white works brilliantly. Really just an Omega version of what you've got.

Maybe we need a white on white thread :)

Double white Ploprof looks amazing! I had a Ploprof about a decade ago (bought from Shalako) and it's stubbiness meant it fit my wrist just fine. I keep looking at the gray one on the sales corner and forcing myself to resist temptation!

White-on-white for the win! I'm glad I'm not alone.

You mean this one LOL ;)

I shouldn't really look at these images as I might change my mind about selling it... Have just left it in box since coming back from Omega.

Please don't show me that. The gray looks fantastic and it doesn't look like the new gray AP ROO diver will be available anytime soon 🤯

Reflecting on this Panerai, it's got to be a strap monster, for both lairy and conservative options.

22mm seems to be a hotspot:

Isofrane do some great colour choices https://www.watchobsession.co.uk/col...gf_228364=22mm

    And so do Panerai https://www.panerai.com/en/search/fi...VUQ0hPVUMifX19

I am definitely looking at Panerai submersibles more and more these days. A lot of value compared to a lot other offers out there. This white face one is certainly able to take a lot of different strap colours which really appeals.
Just would like it to be 44mm and maybe even in titanium……
