    Richard Donner, 91 RIP

Showing my age here but without Richard Donner some of my favourite films throughout the years would not have come to pass. Lethal weapon , Goonies or the first Superman film. All helmed by Richard Donner . What a filmmaker. My respect and condolences.

Damn. So sorry to hear that. Many condolences to his family. He made some of the best films of my childhood. Posted the link to one of his best scenes.

    Sad news but good innings.

Scrooged is my favourite Christmas Carol telling, the Goonies and Lethal Weapon both class.

Thanks for the heads-up. I must admit, I didn't know the name, despite being a fan of so many of these movies from the 80s, and indeed his TV shows from the 60s (e.g. Man from UNCLE, Twilight Zone). RIP

RIP Mr Donner. A very talented man with an incredible CV and someone who made a genuine challenge to The Exorcist with The Omen as one of the scariest film of all time.

The Omen is a very daft film but I love it.

The Dick Donner “cut” of Superman II is worth seeking out.

I had no idea he had directed 'The Omen' (1976 original). Such a great horror film. Bit dated now, but still spine-tingling in parts.

He lived a long life though. RIP.

I never realised he was that old; well into his 50s making The Goonies and Lethal Weapon.

    RIP.
