    Just popped over the Co-op...............................

And there was a young lad working away filling the shelves and was wearing a speedy triple calendar, MK40.

You dont see much of interest on the wrists of people around here so was pleasantly surprised.

    One of these

    Cheers,

    Ben

Why not invite him to join TZ, if he's not already aware, he'd fit in well here.

IIRC a bit smaller than the Pro's.

A friend of mine has one.
    Cheers,
    Neil.

I was on a wedding gig last night and one of the guests was wearing a BLNR on oyster (most likely a 116710BLNR). I know they aren't that rare but I've never seen another in the wild before. It looked great :-)

Look great and quite sought after now.

Remember practically having to give mine away on the forum years ago. Was one of my many purchases from Burnsey.

Did wear small as I was in my “large dive watch” phase. Ironically probably sweet spot perfect for me now.

Add it to the list of regrets. Number 377 probably...........

Very nice, much more interesting than a plain Speedy. Maybe he is a Schumacher fan?

I think hhhh had one for sale a few years ago, he kept dropping the price and I was so tempted, was very cheap in comparison to what I have spent since!

I have never seen nor heard of this model before. Might be my new favourite Omega.

    Haha, you're too kind Ben.

To this watch though it is great when you see something unusual like this, I'd appreciate their individual taste straight away. Much more so than seeing something blingy and expensive where first thought about purchasing is likely what is in most demand. Very cool watch.

Nor me. If I saw someone working in a supermarket wearing one of those I'd definitely assume it was some kind of horrible Frankenstein fake! :0) Every day is a school day.

Although I'm going to go against the grain here and say I'm not sure I actually like it that much to be honest!? Looks like someone took a set of Sharpie pens to a Speedie. I'll get my coat.

I was 50/50 but decided against it, but may do on a subsequent visit, the store was fairly busy and there is not a great deal of room for standing around chatting.
    Cheers,

    Ben

Quite a rare version, but far too much complication for me and the dial looks too busy.

Working on the dial side of this movement would be fun.........if you like that sort of thing!

A fine watch but liable to be scratched & dinged when filling shelves in supermarkets ... and when opening/flattening cartons ... and pushing trolleys through swing back plastic doors (not customer trolleys).

    I have worked in supermarkets.

I remember roughly 8yrs ago I was in Primark Lakeside waiting for my other half at the changing rooms, young shop assistant was rocking an orange Seiko Monster on a z22 strap. She must have been 16 or 17 felt a very odd watch of choice.

One of the lads in my local health food/organic/vegan friendly/nut cutlet shop wears a Marathon GP
It’s the only other Marathon I have seen in the wild. (The same shop also sells environmentally friendly sex toys - but that’s another story)

With regard to the OP Speedmaster, they are a good looking watch but quite thick. Omega stopped making them a long time ago so it’s either a deliberate choice or an inherited watch. Either way they are quite nice.
