    Tired old Zenith

    Evening peeps.

I work with the Rainbows charity appraising mostly cheap watches which have been donated, and popping batteries in the quartz ones so we can sell them as working, or bin them if they aren't.
Today I've been handed a very tired and on the face of it quite an old Zenith. Its a 36mm case / 38mm incl crown and has 18mm lugs (actually 17.7mm)
The case is very brassed and the dial in very poor condition but the movement looks clean although its running ridiculously fast - its just gained 6 minutes in 10 minute actual time.
What I am interested in is if the movement or indeed the entire watch is worth saving. It looks like it isn't but does this movement ref mean anything
    3551938

I can't find reference to it on the net.

    Thanks for your help.

I have no idea about Zeniths but would love to see a pic Barreti. A few years ago I bought a Heuer Verona Chronograph from Nic Green which was sourced from a charity - an insanely rare watch that they’d received as a random donation

    I think we need pictures.
    In the Sotadic Zone, apparently.

Well those pictures didn’t come out very well did they.
What’s the easiest way to upload decent resolution photos?

    That looks right.

Lovely old watch that I am sure would interest a few on here.

As it is for charity how about an auction in SC?

I'm sure Eddie wouldn't mind knowing his kindly approach to charities.
    Cheers,
    Neil.

Lovely old piece but desperately in need of a service, the balance spring is gummed together which is why it's running so fast.
