Here was the view for the past 7 years, but escaped a month or so back...
A bit noisy what with BLM and Extinction Rebellion marches, weekend rallies inc. ponies and Harley's, and pretty constant sirens and helicopters. Somewhere I hav a picture of c10 riot vans outside the living room window, while trying to do my usual day of Zoom calls. Quite distracting when early lockdown led to a very peaceful city.
Although we did get some nice sunsets out of the back.

I'll bet you didn't - stunning!We've relocated every four years or so with usually fairly mundane garden views from our accommodation, but never a far stroll from an interesting viewpoint or two. This was directly from our Geneva balcony though, and we never got bored of waking up to it.

Usually visible from this window: Swaledale sheep (lots and lots), pheasants, hares, curlews, lapwings, (RSPB Geltsdale) barn owl, the odd sparrow hawk and Ayreshires.
Same view near enough from the other 3 sides.

I sailed out of Ardrossan a few years ago when the marina was still pretty new. It has certainly changed for the better as there was no housing then, just semi-derelict industrial units and a rail siding.Shame the weather isn't always like this

It’s an old pic from Feb but this pic doesn’t capture it but I live in North London on green belt land - my gardens backs on to fields. Lovely part of UK for me. Come out and go right and I’m in London as you know it and 45 minutes into central London on the tube or I go left and it’s farm land , and golf courses and fields that makes you feel you’re a million miles from London.

You were a neighbour of my cousin (picture editor for the Rolex AD mag)…. If you craned your neck from her flat you could see the jet d’eau…. Lovely spot…. Recently opened a new train station and (after having crashed at hers) I was at work in Rolle in less than 30 mins…. A beautiful park nearby and smack bang in the heart of an underrated city… Other than Leicester it’s the city I know best on the planet…

Eaux-Vives with Mont Blanc behind in the photo. Our place was in Le Bouchet, it was a lovely walk down the hill into the city and ten minutes stroll from work. I could even walk to the airport if I was lightly loaded. Love Geneva, it has a bit of everything.
The weather conditions made the outlook from the balcony always interesting and often stunning. We would sometimes make an impromptu visit to Chamonix after looking across the city first thing.

As another city dweller there is not much to look at outside my front room window, (we all know what a Costa Coffee and tube station looks like) and the garden doesn’t exactly have great views either
I am fortunate to have some great views at other homes though.

I know Servette quite well…. One cousin lived on Rue du Jura and the other on the street next to the Placette store (now Manor)
Yeah…. It’s a great town…. Spent many weeks there as a young man as everyone I knew lived in posh student squats and had illegal (but nobody cared) bars attached to them…. Some big parties!
Loved mooching round the big puces too! There was a really nice watch watch stand…
I still go back often and always enjoy it…. Last time was just before lock down…

Being glass is half full, yes the living space is small but this is the Google Maps 'view' and in terms of having recreational and shopping facilities, access to stunning river walks and 2 of the best parks in the UK things aren't too shabby.
