    Salmiakki (Salty Liquorice) is extremely moreish (if not addictive). I worked for Nokia a few years ago and at every opportunity, persuaded anyone travelling to their Finland HQ to bring me back a couple of packs of Fazer.

    I knew a Finnish girl in the UK who used to make her own and I swear she put ammonia in it! (As in I saw her do so rather than it tasted like it)

    Dutch liquor Sonnema Beerenburg. You can drink it 'pure' but also with hot chocolate. In that case it's called an 'Under Cover'(!)

    It was in Helsinki about fifty years ago that I was introduced to the habit of getting seriously warmed-up with booze before going out drinking. The theory was that it was cheaper to get squiffy at home. And its true….
