Sometimes I think that eBay gets away with higher prices generally because subconsciously people tend to think that it’s cheaper than new without questioning it. They might not necessarily bother to check the new price?

I know that I’ve often seen items for sale at higher prices than you can buy them new and direct. I agree that it’s a bit odd, but it takes all sorts to make the world go round I suppose.

I think the average price is about one third off retail. That is roughly what I paid when I bought one a few months back.

Steinhart seem to be the best example of this, for some strange reason their watches tend to sell above retail on eBay.

Probably the seller using another account to push it and came unstuck (or maybe trying to falsely inflate selling prices) I've seen this type of thing a few times and you can be pretty sure the same watch will be relisted by the seller in a couple weeks time.

New SBS watches are sold cheaply at a very baffling rate on eBay, there's been plenty of speculation about this offer on MWR as it seems at least there must be some back door disappearance of MOD stock or something for so many to be sold constantly new.

They do usually sell a couple hundred less than CWC prices so would be odd for anyone to bid this high for one.

Here we go again. It's almost up to retail price.

And I see the person with 88 feedback is the main bidder again.

How interesting. Hadn’t thought about it, beyond ‘what a silly price’

Had it on ‘watch’ last time, just looked back

Yup 88 bloke nudged it up, and clearly over-stepped the con

And here’s renamed 88 bloke nudging it up again.

Ha! Funny old game. The shenanigans hadn’t crossed my mind.

It’s going to be amusing if he wins it again😂

(PS Am I missing something here, that’s a shop-bought diver with sapphire crystal, worth 400-450?)

That's what I though when I started this thread.
It's a shop bought watch that's in stock

Factor in one spiv who doesn’t want to take a hit and that’s basically the story here. Nothing to do with the sales prices of second hand CWC divers.

It may be issued, but that doesn’t do much for the price of these few year old SBS’s
Only way to tell is ask Silverman’s about ser no.‘s.
No mention or sight in photos of boxes or paperwork.
And a listing cut and pasted from CWC website.

But you are getting two new grey straps with it

Silvermans will no longer confirm if a watch was issued or not.
They have stated this follows on from the police investigation in to the flooding of the market of issued SBS.

Matters not - will reset and go again until it sells.

    I's not worth getting involved - it's non-issued and a Luminova dial.
