Often the inner lane heading for the junction is going at a higher speed than the slow lane of the motorway, particularly if it's crawling along during rush hour. Technically, then strictly speaking it would be better to brake that traffic until it matches the speed of the slow lane rather than join in at the quicker speed.
My understanding is that continuous lanes is a different situation, as each progress according to the cars in front. As such, there is no undertaking.

    Highway Code Rule 268

Do not overtake on the left or move to a lane on your left to overtake.

In congested conditions, where adjacent lanes of traffic are moving at similar speeds, traffic in left-hand lanes may sometimes be moving faster than traffic to the right. In these conditions you may keep up with the traffic in your lane even if this means passing traffic in the lane to your right. Do not weave in and out of lanes to overtake.

I've just sent and email and got an out of office back.

The out of office has a motivational quote at the bottom.

What an absolute tool. Why would you do that?

    Pointless.
I did that once and was greeted by a load of flashing blue lights. It was an unmarked police car!

Worse than that is the he/she pronouns stuff in email signatures. No idea why it is necessary.

I was on a client call earlier & as someone introduced themselves, they advised us all of their pronouns. Given there was nothing different to expected, all seemed a little attention seeking tbh.

There is enough in life to worry about without having to worry about stuff like this.

As they relayed their pronouns I would be thinking alternatives (kn*b, kn*bhead, kn*bber). But I may be doing this wrong.

Don’t know how long it lasted, but saw someone once with a work email autosignature effectively taking the **** out of that kind of thing. Think the words were “Remember you are unique - just like everyone else.” At least, I assume it was intended as sarcastic!

Definitely not when I’ve seen it. The phone is held horizontally so they are speaking towards the microphone at the bottom of the phone. Seen people driving along doing it. Often when the car you’d assume had hands free. Maybe it’s a “gangsta” style thing done to impress others?! That’s the kind of idiot usually doing it.

My CEO is double espresso, triple cocaine woke, and this shit is forced down our throats. We are encouraged to put our preferred pronouns in our Teams profile. I am half tempted to put mine as he/she.

I have a mate who is a kickboxer, covered in tattoos, and has his pronouns on LinkedIn. I asked him what it was all about and he said he's a bit older and thought it would make him seem modern when we was looking for jobs.

It’s because these “gangsta’s” are using “burner” phones that they don’t want connected to their car via Bluetooth as the dialled/received numbers can be accessed on the car if it’s impounded, and also the phone is then indelibly linked to that car and any evidence on that phone is then linked to that person, completely voiding the “burner” nature of said phone….

Another one I'm becoming more aware of is ICE car owners parking in spaces reserved for EV car owners. Both in car parks and on residential streets.

Also EV cars parked in EV charging spaces but not plugged in to charge, that must really hack off other EV owners who need to charge. Surely if they don't need to charge, park in a normal space.

Why BT Open Reach vans always travel in packs of 2 or 3 vehicles.

    No-wonder they're so useless.

Anyone else associate ICE with in-car entertainment? Still my first thought when I see the term,

Why horsey people have to plod around the roads in an arrogant "we were here first" way expecting everyone, even pedal bikers, to give them consideration. Ride on the bloody fields ffs.

They are allowed to do that but there are special EV bays with chargers that ICE cars aren't allowed in. This is preventing them from charging.

Because a cable has two ends! The third van is to run between the other two with coffee and bacon sandwiches! :)

Today is a good day to get a bunch of EV owners together to go and park up at petrol pumps, leaving only one available for ICE vehicles.

It baffles me why some people refer to the lower-body garment consisting of a hard-wearing protective covering for the lower legs but has no seat as `assless chaps`. They`re just `chaps`!

    It`s like saying `sleeveless t-shirt`!

**I would just like to make it clear that i do not move in circles or socialise with, do buisiness with, or gather in groups with others where the aformentioned garment is either worn, discussed excessively, admired or otherwise engaged in, it`s just a thing i`ve noticed and thought i`d mention it here....

ICE is what I might use in the NHS hospital service to order an x-ray (even though I'm about to do the x-ray myself). I have no idea what the acronym means. These acronyms do my head in. I literally spend hours looking up what the likes of GCD, CBD, DOPS, CEX, WBA, DFT, GCDent, RCS, MDT, ICE, Kallidus, Develop, Allocate, Medway, PACS, etc. etc. actually mean. Sometimes I get emails with 4 or 5 of these in the same sentence.

Very tempted to reply IDKWTFTM so FO!

    Price, style, colour, size....

There may be one or more of many reasons.

Unless this could also be in the Dear Wife thread, in which case there’s no good reason at all!

Yep, should really be in that thread but I was trying to keep it brief. Long day.
