    Italian watches?

I’d like to add an Italian brand of watch to my small collection but don’t really fancy a Panerai - anything else out there worth looking at?

    Out Of Order.

A bit lower down the food chain than Panerai though.

Ennebi, hand made in Florence by the people left behind when LVMH bought Panerai, lots of genuine Italian history/ heritage.

If an Italian/Swiss combination is close enough, there's Wyler Vetta. Both vintage and modern.

Yes, considering Italians are very into dressing well and nice things I would’ve thought there would be more watchmakers based there. Maybe their Latin temperament means they don’t have the patience!

Philip Watch who put their name to (Jenny) Caribbean watches for the Italian market back in the 1970s. In fact they still use the Caribbean name for some of their lines.

    I believe A-13A are italian.

Giuliano Mazzuoli make some interesting and unusual retrograde and manometer-styled watches, at stiff prices.

Perseo might be worth a look, some of their watches are actually made (assembled I'd guess) in Italy, the rest in Switzerland, genuine history, and inexpensive.

'Marcello C' are Italian I think also. Granted they sound like an Italian hairdressers .

    * I thought they were Italian by the name- turns out after looking they are German made with Swiss parts.

There are some absolute shockers in this list. Correction, they are mostly absolute shockers. It looks to me like Italian style goes out of the window when they put pen to paper designing a watch.
OP good luck with finding an Italian watch you like.

I think yer actual Stylish Italian recognises that Italy is not necessarily the source of all the finest things in life, thus "Italian watch" elicits much the same perplexity as phrases like "Swiss supercar"...

    [Sbarro Autobau]

They did, after-all, export their only truly iconic watch brand to Switzerland...

Many years ago a member here posted a lovely looking Italian chronograph spotted whilst browsing watch shops in Italy. I discounted it at the time as it was in my dark days when a watch had to have a coronet on the dial to be desirable. I haven’t been able to find the post but if the member is still active please post it again.

I tend to agree, maybe I’ll go back to looking at Panerai!

Then there is Locman, from Elba island.
They are renowned for their funky design, mainly do quartz but quality is good.
