I don’t get it either, the camera clearly picks up more than the ref sees unless he’s in the right place exactly and then he doesn’t have the benefit of seeing it in slow mo etc

Seeks to be unrest at Wembley and fighting between some fans and security. Apparently it is fans with no tickets who were fighting and some managed to break through and make it into the stadium. Hopefully the authorities sort it out.

Not surprising when you see the sheer amount of fans that have been absolutely caning it since early afternoon. From the pictures outside the stadium and the state they are in they won’t have a clue what happens during the match!

About the Dutch referee Björn Kuipers. It's his last game as ref. His international career ends tonight.
Kuipers owns a few supermarkets (franchisee) and his wife owns a few hair dressers shops. He hasn't done badly: the supermarket business has made him a millionaire (no kidding) according to the chamber of commerce open sources.
About the VAR: originally, UEFA had appointed the same Dutch VAR as the one during Eng/Den. But he is demoted! There's another VAR ref (German), the Dutch VAR ref is 'only' an assistant tonight.

Thanks for the tip. Listening to a radio commentary where they talk about the game rather than their own opinions is refreshing. I just have to remember that their intended audience doesn't have the advantage of the score being ever present on a screen such that they keep mentioning the state of play for the radio listeners.
