    Which Cordless Grass Trimmer?

    Hi all

Can anyone recommend a decent cordless grass trimmer (AKA 'Strimmer') that won't break the bank?

Workload for this won't be high - budget up to around £100 including battery.

There seem to be tons of choices including from brands I didn't expect / have never heard of, so rather than taking a punt or choosing by brand recognition I thought I'd ask here first - TIA, as ever.

Worx stuff is pretty good. I’ve got one of their electric mowers and trimmers and they’ve performed well so far

I use a Makita 18v battery Strimmer, very reliable

I got a second hand petrol strimmer about 10 years ago after faffing with powder puff electric ones and it’s still going strong…. It’s just so much more effective

Me too. Rock solid and if things do go wrong/wear out there's loads of spares available.

Another shout for Stihl. Superb bits of kit. I've had mine 2 years and have been very impressed with it.

+1, Got a lot of Makita kit - obviously pays to stick to one brand of battery tool/equipment and Makita is up there with the best across their range.

From experience I would avoid Bosch cordless tools.

Until recently I had a Husqvarna cordless strimmer that I got free with the purchase of a robotic mower (actually got one with both robotic mowers but sold the second immediately). It rendered my Stihl petrol strimmer almost redundant - only used for the very toughest of strimming jobs.

I got the cordless mower & strimmer kit for £200.
Took the strimmer to wife’s parents & got an hour of tidying the country lane verge from the two batteries.
Very light & well balanced unlike the 4 in 1 petrol beast I got rid of.

Same here. Had it a few years without issue.

    I've got a Bosch EasyGrassCut 18-230

It's excellent, and the batteries are interchangeable between all of their power 4all series, so I've got the chainsaw and cordless hedge trimmer as well. 3 Year warranties and no complaints whatsoever.

Me too. Recently bought one that came with a 5ah battery and then another free 5ah battery arrives in the post once you have registered.

Cheap Stihl petrol strimmer is 100% the way to go. Even if it's overkill, it'll make strimming your grass fun & I guarantee you won't regret it.

Thanks for all the input on this.

Stihl seemed a popular choice but I couldn't find a cordless one close to budget. In the end I went for a 36V Bosch that was on offer during Amazon Prime Day.

    So far so good.
