Resizing JLC Polaris bracelet, anyone done it?

    Hi all,

just got a nice new polaris mariner here that needs the bracelet adjusting, apparently there are spring bars between each link, im not quite sure how to go about adjusting the bracelet, cocktail sticks arent working anyway,

    anyone done one before?

I am assuming you have searched YouTube as that is usually my first port of call when trying to adjust a new bracelet!

Otherwise, sorry I haven’t done one of those.

I think it’s pin and collar - I nearly bought one from Pragnells and IIRC that’s what I was told.

    Thanks Gerry,

The links are pins and tubes for the adjustment,

There are JLC bracelets that definitely have a springbar within each link.

The bracelet on my Reverso has them. I appreciate the Polaris is a different style bracelet, however here is a link to a Reverso manual. Should just be a simple push with the pin end of a springbar tool, to each side of the link in turn.

    Seems the AD was mistaken

Edit : maybe not. I just found this on Watchuseek re the Polaris “The bracelet is just a simple pin and tube. You just push it out with the proper tools. No spring bars as Tim reported and not screws either. The bracelet is extremely nice and comfortable as well. ‘

Yes I’ve done it and it was pin and collar. I used a pin pusher and little hammer (don’t know a proper name for it!). I took my time and slowly tapped each one out. Hope that helps. I couldn’t find anything on YouTube either!

I’m not sure whether pin and collar is the same as pin and tube?

Out of interest Did you manage to secure any decent discount on the Mariner?
