Deliverance is a great movie made iconic by the Duelling Banjos. Beatty was well cast, but I never understood why the Burt Reynolds character was hanging out with such a bunch of misfits.

He's like the cool kid with the nerds or the pretty girl with the plain ones - It makes him look better

It is a good film, I agree.

    RIP

The duelling banjos scene from Deliverance is one of my all time favourites.

The only thing being Billy Redden didn’t learn to play even a few notes from it himself as it would have no doubt changed his life. He had a few moments in the spotlight but nothing like that iconic scene should have given.

Terrific actor who could do it all; personal favourites are the college dean in Back to School and the KGB general in The Fourth Protocol.

    RIP.

    Another great leaves. RIP.
Always remember him opposite Walter Matthau and Herbert Lom in Hopscotch.
