    Citizen watch repairs? Thoughts?

I have a citizen pro master diver - nothing special except memories as I bought it in Australia on a great holiday
It’s an auto and not in bad nick

    However, it’s stopped working.
    The hands set
The day sets but not the date
The stem to me seems a tiny bit wobbly? Could be my imagination now I know it’s not running

Is there anybody on here that could have a look/repair it?
How much would a new movement be if needed?

I’ve had a look online but it’s mind boggling tbh and they seem like sausage machine quote repair robots

Send it back to Citizen direct and see what they quote?

The greatest cost repairing affordable watches is usually the man-hours involved, so the pragmatic approach is to replace the whole movement - quicker and more thorough. Provided a compatible calibre still exists, any competent watchmaker should be able to do the work.

    8203, 8215 auto calibre?

8215 movements available from Cousins for £34.15.
Not sure if that includes VAT but will probably attract P&P.

8203 - it doesn’t mean much to me tbh

I found that citizen themselves were very fair in cost for a repair / service on an old solar powered quartz and the service that they provided was also excellent. Might be worth just sending it to them to see what they say? You’re not committed to agreeing to the work either of course.

I’m quite frankly amazed that with the way my very clever phone changes every other word to something that I didn’t actually type that all you found to correct was the absence of a capital letter!
Thanks though. I’ll sleep better tonight.

Used the Citizen repair centre a few years ago, and they were excellent.
Did a superb job, and at a very fair price too

Was it not just a very short reply to the OPs question?
