I’ve been idly struck that in some photos of CWC watches, the dive dials look ‘busy’ in the way of Luminox dials, with bright white lines everywhere, competing for your eye and, in others, they don’t.
Eg:
I’ve come to realise that the effect is due to thickness of the minute markings varying between dials.
Sometimes fine, retiring and ‘uncluttering’, sometimes thick, in your face and ‘busy-making’:
Anyone noticed whether this thinning and fattening correlates with anything or is random from batch to batch?
(In my pics, fat-minutes seem to be a feature of date window dials, and thin-minutes of no date)
